Validation Sunday for the Miami Dolphins

It is silly to think that people will not be killing RT if he comes up small Sunday. When Luck, Wilson, RGIII and probably Nick Foles make the playoffs from the 2012 class, there will be major expectations of Miami's QB.

And I like the kid, but it is obvious the criticism that will follow.

it doesn't really matter to me what this board thinks i just know that in nfl circles ryan tannehill is scoring very high marks...

I will put it this way...if RT can score a win in his biggest start of career it will add positively to his rep within the locker room.

the biggest start and win of his career was 2 weeks ago when they beat the long time division powerhouse patriots...that locker room knows he's the guy...

I guess his body of work is done then.

Each win yields to another and bigger game for him. Everyone knows that. With that said, the NFL is a "what have you done for me lately" league. You are only as good as your last week. Things can change fast in this league. He needs a win Sunday to keep the positive vibe going. Play poorly in it overrides most of his accomplishments this year. Obviously, if the does not play well, Miami loses. He needs a good game Sunday.

every week the like last 8 weeks i have read on here how this is validation week...or the biggest game of our season etc...the qb had rarely played poorly all season not sure why anyone would expect him to in the finale at home vs the damn jets...

i know everyone wants to get to the postseason and finish the regular season on a high note but if we finish at 9-7 and dont get in given our in season issues this will all in all have been a pretty solid year...had we fixed the oline issues this season may have been a very special one

anyways i think we are getting in as the 6 seed and if you ask me in a home must win game from what i have seen from this qb in the past he will rise to the occasion...and get the job done

plenty of qbs in this league that i would bet on to come up small in this scenario but ryan tannehills not one of em

I hope you right. However, the knee and pass pro could make him below average Sunday. People remember what you did last. I have been happy with RT, but I am not naive to the criticism that will come his way with a loss Sunday.

If he loses...he deserves some criticism based on the opportunity squandered.

Look at his picks on CBS Sportsline...Literally picked against the fins EVERY week....Yes all 16 games he picked our opponent...Im not one to cry foul on media hate but he obviously has an axe to grind

I go after him in the comments section on all his articles. I look for mistakes and call him out on it. He is terrible.

You better believe there is a reason Mike Shanahan floated the rumor that he wanted Tannehill instead of Griffin.

Great summary. I agree. It is a very important game for everyone; as fans we are tired of change every 2-3 years and no progress. A win against jets would entail a playoff run; which may end in one game but would qualify as a growth for this team.

Anything that entails a loss with the Jets would be devastating to the fans and the team. RT will be identified as a long time answer at the QB position. More importantly, it will validate the plan put together by Ireland and Philbin.

Here is hoping for a victory.

I'm sorry but are you serious? If we lose Tannehill deserves criticism regardless of how he plays, how else can you make a statement like that before the game is even played? If he gets another hit on the knee and can barely walk he deserves criticism?
