I wanted to bring up the value of a great WR. I see so many people say that a WR don't have as much value cause they only touch the ball 6-7 times a game. This is not true, a great WR that can score from anywhere is such a key to having a great off. Even if they only touch the ball 6-7 times cause they strike fear in the d-fence. A great WR has to be accounted for at all times if not he will kill u deep. This is one problem with are off. we have no WR that a D-fence has to really respect (Chambers is not that). If look at the way people play us they always get away with cheating up there safteys and blitzing the hell out of us cause we have no one to make them pay for doing it. I just wanted to bring this up cause I see people say trading up for CJ is not worth it cause he only touches the ball 6-7 times. This does not mean I want to trade up just that there is a lot that a great WR brings to the table even when he is not geting the ball. I u know a O-line don't get the ball much do they and they are pretty important in my min at least.

i agree 100%. that is why we need a really good WR. especially a speed WR. that would help stretch the field and keep the SS/FS back a little deeper and would help our short pass and run game.

WR can help open up the passing and running games. Whoever gets CJ got the best player in the draft that can help any team.

I don't disagree about CJ and his abilities.
But, I don't think its the defense that takes our receivers out of the game its our quarterbacks inability to be accurate and consistant in getting the ball to our receivers. Look what happened with the last quarterback we had who was half way consistant and could pass the ball ( Frerotte ). I think Chambers went to the Pro Bowl.
If we don't get a quarterback who can meet our needs it will make no difference who we get at receiver. Quarterback must be a priority, not a secondary need. If we make a receiver a priority and decide a QB can be picked up later we are making a statement that a quarterback is not as important as a good receiver. How good will a receiver be if we don't have a quarterback that can get him the ball.
I know, I have heard all of the arguments both for and agains't Daunte Culpepper and it would be great if Culpepper came back to his form from 2003 -2004. The truth is we don't know what he will do. If he returns what will he return with, what kind of punishment will his knee take? Will he have to wear a knee brace such as Marino's and if so how much will his mobility be diminished?
I like Quinn but I also know Jamarcus Russell could be a surprise like Vince Young was. I am not saying he is like Vince Young, just maybe a surprise like him. And as always this is JMO.

Assuming we can get a top QB that will likely be our route. But assuming both Quinn and Russell (though personally I wouldnt take Russell-im not sold on him) are gone, WR is something we should look at.
Sorry, Chambers is not a big threat. He just cant seem to get the seperation to get open consistently, and it isnt helped that we have no deep threat to keep safties from ganging up on him.

So if we take Ginn for instance, it would give us an instant deep threat, keep the safties from doubling CC and open him up to work the field and draw the safties out of the box allowing R&R to run more freely. So WR is certainly something we could be taking a look at.

I do agree that a good QB is a need and we have not had one. But Chambers is still not a game changer type of WR. He is a great # 2 and playes better from the slot.

i agree with dan the fan WR is an important need on the team. Only if we could move up to TB spot we could lock up CJ who is the best player in the draft and is going to make a big impact on any team he goes to.

For sure if we traded up and CJ was there I take him over anybody in this draft. He seems to be the next great WR. To me he is a TO with more speed and not all the issues, cause he is a hard worker wih good character.
