Pretty good.

He's talking on ESPN radio about how everyone (mainly the media) was quick to jump on the story when he was a trainwreck and out two years, in the CFL, etc.... and how no-one is giving him love now that he's worked his way back to the starting RB for Miami....

Wanted to know where all the love is for him since there was such an amount of hate and finger pointing when he was down... Said that he applauds Ricky for the effort and wanting to clear his name and for BP for giving him another shot.

+10000 for Van Pelt for recongnizing what Ricky's done

Just wait until the season starts. The media love fest for Ricky will be back. He is going to shock the NFL.

oh most def man. I think miami as awhole will shock many and might pull off a good turn around simliar to the NO of a few yrs back. I dono about AFC conf finals but def more hetn 5 win.

Van Pelt's argument doesn't make much sense. So everyone hated him because he quit, became a poster boy for marijuana, and then flirted with the NFL again only to burn it (no pun intended) by testing positive yet again. Ok. Isn't THAT pretty much the explanation for why people have not really embraced him back so quickly? Hard feelings from what he did before?

BTW I was at that Tampa preseason game down in Miami and probably the loudest cheering I heard the entire game was when Ricky came in. The crowd loves a comeback.

I think that was his point... He said it was like a trainwreck. That everyone stoped to point and watch and everyone is quick to jump on the anti-Ricky bandwagon, he especially called out the media who was making fun of him when he was sputtering up in Canada, etc....

Then he went on to ask why is it that he's getting no love now whatsoever that he's righted his ship and has stated that he wants to clear his name and set a good example. He has won over BP and most Miami fans, even earned the starting spot, so why hasn't anyone been covering how good he's been doing?

I think you're right... the fans seem quick to welcome ricky back and are eager to cheer for him, but his point was, Why won't the media acknowledge a good story, about him overcomming his demons, when they're so quick to jump on and spread news on a bad one?

Either way, I can't wait to see him run!

Personally I think it's more borderline hypocritical to be so quick to welcome him back after everyone down here showed such seething hatred for the man a few years ago.

If the media and whatnot have been slow to come on to him, that's probably the more appropriate reaction.

I really don't care to see this guy back with our team. I may be in the minority but I would prefer a team with some decent guys on it, not this clown that decided he'd rather do illegal drugs than play pro football. If he had simply retired and said he didn't want to play anymore, I would have been upset but would have quickly gotten over it (it's his career... I wa s abig Barry Sanders fan and he walked away). But when I heard the reason he hung it up, I was furious. I believe wholeheartedly in forgiveness (even without being asked) but I also believe the offender has to make an effort to `make the situation right. Ricky hasn't proven anything to me yet. Hopefully he finally has his personal life in order.

Too much credit is given to the "media"... they have agenda's.... and one of them is no longer "reporting"... it speculating and stirring the pot to gain "viewership" most times to promote their "brand"... meaning themselves.

When RW's is on the field... or for that matter ever taken the field... he's been the consumate pro.... in practice and in games... did he have off field issues... no question... did he bail on a DW and his team-mates... again no question.... and the media and most fans skewered him....

But... whenever he set foot on the field... practice or game.... you always got 100% RW's the football player... and that's pretty damn good....that's what the Trio see's....

I suggest if you desire team success for the Dolphins it's time to support RW's 100% and pay less attention to the "media" and their self promoting agenda's....

Head firmly embedded in sand....

I think Ricky will have agood solid year and I think by the year's end he will be looking for a fat contract either in Miami or elsewhere.

I just hope that when it starts, Ricky won't go back to being the guy that wears his helmet during post game interviews. He looks really good running behind our new-look o-line. He's saying that the o-line is the best that he's seen, even better than the one we had in '03. I don't know if Ricky's confidence level changes at all, but if it does, he sounds pretty confident in the guys that are blocking for him. That can only be a good thing...
