If Kubiak retires, Ian reported that Vance in strong consideration based on prior interview with the team. There is also a Gase connection here....

That would be insane. They need to find someone who can play well with Wade Phillips, as long as Wade is willing to stay. If I were them, I would look at Kyle Shanahan, who coached under Kubiak, and is familiar with his staff.

Dolphin fans are in serious denial when it comes to this issue. Wake up!! It is more likely than not that VJ is gone. Gase will find a great DC to partner with, but Vance is on the A-list. He won't be turning down any offers for HC. He is an excellent manager of people, and people with authority recognize this.

Yep...I've been saying that.

Who knows....you may be right. But I'm not sure I would get excited about his if I was a Broncos fan. I like VJ, but being a good manager of people doesn't qualify you to be a NFL head coach. Heck, Rex Ryan is one of the most popular coaches in the league with the players....and look where that got him.

I think VJ needs a year or two more of growth before he would be ready for a HC gig.....but as you say, the Broncos or some other team might feel differently.

I have a hard time believing Kubiak is going to retire.

I also have a tough time believing teams like Denver, San Fran, Jacksonville and Buffalo won't bring in offensive minded new head coaches due to each teams current situation where that is the side of the ball needing to be upgraded most. IF Joseph was to leave I could see it more to a team that needed help on the defensive side of the ball like San Diego if they fire McCoy.

Yeah I saw that myself on NFLN. I didn't think it would happen for at least another season depending on how much we improved on defense; but Ian did report that, so i guess we'll see what happens soon enough.

Hes going to get interviews. Question we need to start thinking about. Who will be our new DC? And don't say rex ryan. He is burnt out as a DC

He will get multiple interviews

Health issues and family pressure. Time for him to move on.

This is 100% a Rooney rule interview. VJ isn't going to be the head coach anywhere next year.

Rooney rule opens a few doors for him but he is still well thought of around the league. It just takes one team that he interviews with that decides to take a chance on him if he impresses in the interviews. I thought at first it was a quick accend but it can happen. There most likely will be even more openings after today.

I think Joseph would be better served waiting a year but if Denver offers him the gig , I think he may jump. Denver will be the #1 job for candidates this year, probably better than will what will be available next year too, assuming the Cowboys don't **** the bed next season.
