I know a lot of people will think I'm nuts. I'm cool with that. There is no way Vanderjagt, a multiple time pro bowl kicker, and thought to be by many, one of the best kickers ever misses a kick in that way. Vanderjagt just is too good to shank it 20 - 30 feet to the right like that. He's just too good. He must owe someone some money or something.

To me, the only excuse I would accept is that he thought they were going to call time out to ice him. Otherwise, he was paid to dump the game. He's just too good to miss like that in that situation.

Bash away!

:shakeno:

Vanderjagt is also famous for being unclutch. He is good at making kicks in the dome when they don't matter.

I just liked how they brought up the how he has never missed a field goal at home.THEN BAM!

actually, i thought they snapped the ball way too soon....it almost seems like they ran up to the line quickly and snapped the ball very fast without even getting set....and this was after they called a timeout...

Their is one reason why this can't be true. Indy was favored by 8.5 points. Even if Vandy hits the kick and the game goes to OT, there is no way Indy could cover. If you bet on Pittsburgh, that kick did not matter one bit.

UNLESS....of course, they took them on the Money Line, which always pays much more than the spread!

Vanderjagt sure didnt look thrilled when he missed.

I don't think he could have faked that reaction if he missed the kick on purpose. He was legitimately upset.

The timeout called to Ice him obviously upset him as he made derogatory signals
to the opposing team bench before the kick.It amounted to smack.

Not too smart on his part as I am sure teams will keep Icing him frequently now because they know they can get to him.

Are you nuts? Seriously though I highly doubt that he missed the kick on purpose for whatever reason. There is a thing called PRESSURE and some professionals don't handle it as well as others. He just choked end of story. Btw wasn't it a 46 yarder he attempted ? that's no chip shot.JMHO
