I love Vernon Carey this guy can play anywhere on the line and works very very hard. I really want this guy locked up long term so we can build a dominant line around him this guy has proven he is an anchor of a line.

But I have been saying that Jake Long is the Safest pick and not only the safest he is an very very good player and will blossom under Sparano's teachings.

So here is the question/s
IF we draft Jake long do you think that Vernon could play LG there? and then we will draft another or pick up a right tackle. Or do you think he will move back to RT or do you think if we draft J Long he will play RT.

I know it is alot to ask two rookies to play the bookends of a line but its just a thought i think Vernon can be an all pro guard no problem.

Vernon has already said he would have no problem moving back to RT so I think that would be best. It's easier to find an OG than it is a OT and Carey is one of the best OTs in the league. He just doesn't get the credit he deserves because of the team he plays on.

I think if we draft Jake Long, he'll start RT, Carey LT. Satele Smiley and hopefully another rookie making up the interior. How amazing would it be if Brandon Albert was still around at 32? That would change one of, if not the weakest OL in the league, potentially one of the best for the next 3-5 years.

I'm pretty sure we'd see a different John Beck, Josh McCown and Ronnie Brown behind a line of Carey, Smiley, Satele, Albert and Long. Admittedly, Wideout corps still needs one major upgrade IMO, and we'll need to add at least one LB and DB on the first day this year too but with a good draft this year, I'm finally beginning to get excited about this team again.

I really think Carey is a solid LT. If he had better play around him and a decent QB throwing the ball he could be a future Pro Bowler. As solid as Shelton and Hadnot were in the running game, I think they were horrible in pass protection. IMO Carey is suited to play either RT or LT. If we draft Jake Long I would imagine Carey would move back to RT rather than G. You don't draft a RT with the first overall pick in the draft.

we have enough guards...We only have 1 legit Tackle on the roster and thats Vernon,...Move him to RT,where he belongs, and get Jake Long to play LT:up:

And you know what...he never will...and thats not even the sad part....the sad part is...he goes about his buisness, and doesn't complain or cry for attention...like,it doesn't bother him...Im actually pretty suprised, and grateful to have a man play for a lacking-ful team for years, and keeps his head down, and do what he is suposed to....GJ(GJ=Good Job) Vernon Carey:up:

if not Chris Long, then i say draft Jake Long for the LT position and move Carey back to RT where he's said he's comfortable at,and pick up the best Guard we can in one of the later rds.
