I have never heard in NFL of a Tackle being moved to Gaurd when the alternative is far worse!

I would understand fully if Carey moved to Gaurd and the alternative RT both played well enough to justify start, but at present Carey is playing worse as a Gaurd and Columbo is dreadful as RT.

Although some criticised his play last year on occasions, VC was one of the better RT in NFL. Surely it is easier to find a Gaurd than Tackle.

Please Sparano, move VC back to RT and have a plain old dogfight for RG!
 
The Colombo experiment was crushing failure, I hope they have something else in mind for thursday night.
 
Carey should be cut. He is letting the team, the fans, and himself down by reporting AGAIN as a fat lazy unconditioned millionaire.
He doesn't have any fire in his belly, other than the rotting stench of the 7 herbs and spices leaking out the back end.
Murtha, Garner, anyone else but Carey at RT.
 
Vernon Carey was never going to be good at guard as he is at tackle. Square pegs in round holes.

It's a mystery why he accepted a pay cut rather than free agency. Cost himself a lot of $$$ - he must really like Miami

He started his NFL career as a guard and did well. I don't think it is necessarily that the move from tackle to guard was the problem. I think Carey is just winding down as a player.

I'm fairly certain he's never started a regular season game for us at guard before so I'm not sure where you're getting the idea that he did well. For the Hurricanes maybe ?

More to the point I've yet to see anyone make a good argument as to why he would make a better guard than tackle ...

He started some games in 2004 as a guard.

Maybe he didn't "start" games at guard in 2004, but I know for a fact he played there and played that position the majority of that season.
