When we drafted him, one of the red flags was weight issues. Sometimes he could let himself go.

Judging by this picture at the fan appreciation day yesterday, Vernon looks sleek. No protruding gut or access fat. He seems dedicated to getting better.

Good sign.

Wow, I would really like to know what he weighs right now but your right he does look very slim for an o-lineman. If he comes into camp in good shape that would be a wonderfully sign. His knock has always been that he has tons of natural talent but just lacked the dedication to stay in shape and really work his @@@ off.

Man, Matt Roth looks like he's about to rip someone's head off! I can't wait for him to fully adjust to the NFL. He's gonna be a beast!

This is another one of Saban's influences. He has told every player what he expects of them and holds them accountable. I'm glad to see Carey doing his part.
 
Looks good to me. Now if he can just solidify himself as a full time starter....

Yea, he does look pretty slim. I guess he wants to stay at tackle then since by the looks of him, he's too skinny to play guard. Roth looks bigger than him. Of course, we wouldn't want Carey to get too skinny otherwise we'd have to put him at TE. :lol:

they both look like they worked really hard this offseason but carey looks like he wants to start this year all year
