Vernon Carey Retires

Awesome CFB player and a good but not great NFLer. Did not reach his full potential but contributed well nonetheless. Hope he has a good rest of his life and invested his money wisely:).
 
An underrated right tackle that I think couldn't play anywhere else but South Beach. Hope he enjoys his retirement.

That and battling his weight...seemed like he was having a harder time keeping his weight down as he got older...every year he seemed to get bigger and bigger...the opposite of what Philbin wants in an o-lineman
 
Man the jets never picked him up, good luck in what ever you do..............
 
I liked Vernon too. Seemed like a pretty good down to earth dude. Too bad his last year wasn't spent playing RT, instead of that hunk of trash that filled that spot last year.
 
Carey was a good player for the Fins and Canes ..a home town talent. Still, if he could have controlled his weight he could have been great IMHO.

Best of luck to him, I always liked him when he played with us. He probably would have have been a better RT than Colombo last season
 
Good Luck Big Vern!!! Thanks for your hard work and dedication to improving your skills, after coming into the league as a rookie and having a hard time adjusting. You played well for a several years and look forward to hearing about your life after football. Good Luck VC!!!
 
Vernon certainly was NOT worth the 1st round pick we spent on him. He's a guy with a poor work ethic who reported to camp way overweight and out of shape all the damn time. The guy obviously never understood what it took to be a pro. I say good riddance.
 
Always loved Vernon Carey. Great team player. Never complained when he ALWAYS getting changed positions. Good Luck to him and his family.
 
Is it really retiring if nobody wants you?

If it is, then I would like to announce my retirement from the NFL! lol
