Personally i wish they'd have left the right side alone, so we had some continuity in the line, but what do i know. Go Phins!

Well, at least. Vernon has a good attitude. How many of you out there actually played offensive tackle? I did. Let me tell you if you're not left handed or left side dominant it's just not natural moving laterally to your left like a left offensive tackle needs to. That's why left tackles are so hard to find. Obviously the adjustment can be made; not all left tackles are left handed but it won't be easy.

I'm not sure if I like this move by the Phinz. We're taking a huge risk starting Carey at LT in my opinion, and if he can't get the job done, our Qb's will struggle big time....

He was much safer starting over on the right side, and did a decent job there last year, moving him now just seems like more of an act of desperation than anything else in my opinion. He's already failed over there once, and it's tough because it's not his natural position. I hope he does well this year, but the odds aren't really in his favor....

PHINZ RULE!!!

Yea he failed his rookie season because he couldn't handle getting beat by Jason Taylor every practice. He has 3 years in the league now . . . and he should be more ready for the challenge . . . he is mentally tougher and he does have a nice skill set for playing LT. He is our most talented lineman and if he loses the weight and gets a bit more nimble, I think he could translate to the postion quite well. You want your best option at LT, and CArey is that guy. Shelton can play RT . . . maybe not as dominating as Carey but he IMO should be effective

My whole problem with this LT debacle is that they never even liked Levi Brown. Didnt really care for him. Why? They were so in love with Ted Ginn over him and Patrick Willis? Why? What did this guy do that made you think he was all world other than the same repeated highlights of him beating two guys on one play? Did his statistics say anything to dictate that this guy was a sure thing in the NFL at #9?

Now we go back to the same ol situation. Now if Carey does not work out, what then? This is a big problem that management ignored and took major chances that this Carey thing will work out. We will know come August-September what the real truth is.

U don't know who the Dolphins liked. Everybody thought they loved Quinn . . . hell they might have loved Brown also, but he was gone by the 5th pick . . . so what different does it make . . . and Willis so doesn't fill a need on this team . . . defense again . . . gimme a break.

RT and LT don't have the same skill set. The LT has to be big but fast with quick, nimble feet. He generally takes on the best DEs alone unless the RB or FB chips in. The RT is an easier position that doesn't require the player to be nearly as fast nor have as good footwork because he gets lots of help from the TE against the opponents' "other" DEs.

Carey was an interior lineman, a guard, in college. College guards seldom make adequate NFL LTs because they aren't nearly fast enough. If you are looking to convert a college player to a LT, then you look for a big but athletic TE not a guard.

I'm not impressed with this move, but I think it might have been necessitated because Miami lost out on Levi Brown in the draft.

I agree Kinzua .. Carey is just too slow on his feet for a LT .. That's why Cameron said he's gonna try to get Carey to lose some weight.. I hope he does and I hope he really works on his quickness , because he's gonna need it.. I am not that confident in the move, but I do think it's possible he can be adequate there if his attitude is where he says it is and he works very hard..
