Vernon Carey wants to be one of the best RTs in the League.

Whew! What a relief! I definitley thought he was going to be upset about Long, but I guess he's ok with moving back to right tackle. Re-sign this man a.s.a.p!

He also makes the point that Jason Taylor is going to make Jake Long get ready for speed rushers. Makes me think it is another advantage to keeping JT if the price isn't right.

Thats why i like the long pick..We resign Carey for a right tackles salary

Love this interview with Vernon Carey. I was worried he was going to be upset about going back to RT, but he sounds very excited. Hope this guy gets resigned to a 5-6 year deal during this season.

Yeah I think he wants less responsibility on the right side with left side money. I second giving him the extension sooner rather than later, I feel his price is going to go up with each passing game

Carey said a couple of months ago that he would have no problems moving back to RT if the coaches wanted him to.

Love his attitude in that interview, he said he will do whatever the team needs for them to win. Said he doesn't want to go home early anymore, just wants to be a playoff team finally.

He also makes the point that Jason Taylor is going to make Jake Long get ready for speed rushers. Makes me think it is another advantage to keeping JT if the price isn't right.

JT's affect on Jake Long is why I believe that JT will not be traded.

This man is a TRUE team player. He should be resigned ASAP with our extra cap room.

Carey I think would take less money to stay with us, b/c remember he also played at the U. But I think that's the only thing Rick did good for us is choose Carey (even though he moved up to get him). He also will switch back to RT, because he knows his best position is the RT slot.

I think he knows he has the opportunity to play his best position in a contract year. I bet he plays his *** off. Good OTs do not become available in free agency often, he knows that, and I personally think he is going to want to get paid.

Something I forgot to mention earlier that was mentioned in the interview was that I would hate for Carey to move to LG. I mean the guy has been moved around so much and great RTs are harder to find than great LGs. The ONLY positive of moving Carey to LG would be that Long would have an experienced player next to him and not some mid-round rookie, which would help him out tremendously.
