Tidbits from a source with access to the NFL union’s private database: Carey – who didn’t want to leave South Florida - not only accepted a 2011 pay cut from $4.2 million to $2.5 million (with another $450,000 in bonuses), but he allowed the Dolphins to void the last three years (and $15.6 million) of his contract, meaning he will be a free agent after this season. Miami gave less to Marc Colombo (one year, $2 million).

Good. We have bunch a defensive FA coming up that are more important than him.

He'll get resigned but not a top $
 
Think this is Carey's last season...He's old cornfed. We need newer cornfed lineman and more of them.
 
at least now we know where to spend our #1 pick next year...
 
And we have a little wiggle room once teams make final cuts. I still think we try to bring in another lineman. I hope Nate Garner plays in place of Carey and if Columbo doesn't do well I wouldn't mind seeing Murtha on that side.
 
First pick in next years draft- right tackle lol you heard it hear first!
 
yea they will pick Long, Davis, Ordick, Pouncey and now a RT -- maybe a Qb in the 4th or lower --lol
 
lots of people thought ricky and ronnie were washed up
though now we see thomas struggle the same way..
 
Sounds like this was purely a money saving move to free up Dollars to sign some of the other F/A Miami has .. Langford, Soliai, Wake ... Davis and Long Soon after .. Just my opinion!!! to me this virtually guarantees Murtha and Garner make the team ...
