righhhhhttttt....

tHis guy is an animal, the tackles he is going against are dropping back almost as fas as the Qb

the most impressive was th last clip to me where he fights off 2 olineman and catches the Rb

this guy has such an enourmous amount of potential to be a pro bowler.

but yeah go ahead and tell me his Pint of attack is weak again..

if this does not sell some morep people idk what will

When someone says that a player has a questionable motor it does not mean that they never play hard. What it means is that they don't consistently play hard. So, while he might dominate one play, he becomes a non-factor the next.

That is the reality with Gholston. He does not CONSISTENTLY play to his potential.

He'd be a perfect Miami Dolphin according to the most critical of criteria:

Every play they show on the screen, his team is losing by more and more points.

Who say Gholston doesn't show up in big games? Seven of Vernon's 14 sacks came in big games. He had three versus Michigan and four versus Wisconsin.

I like Gholston, I really do... however I don't think that video helps your cause... based on your subject line, I was expecting the video to be late in the 4th quarter and him coming up big on like 3 plays in a row... instead it's like 2 clips per quarter... that shows nothing of his "motor", anyone can put together a couple plays per quarter where they pressure the QB or tackle the RB.

Again, I agree with you completely that Gholston is a machine, but the vid was not that impressive.

Wow, scouting someone based on their youtube video. You realize these are "highlights." It doesn't show the whole body of work. Shoot, I can make a highlight tape of myself and it would make me look like a superstar.

lol so i messed up with the motor part but one this i did wanna show from this video is that he plays his heart out even when his team is getting beat on which i feel is a great quality for a rookie to have especially one coming to a 1-15 season team.

im not scouting him on a youtube video and no i did not realize they were "highlights" thanks for filling me in goofy-dude

I don't think anyone is saying he isn't good, just that Chris Long is better.

If we stay at # 1 we take Long, if we trade down than maybe Gholston

he disappeared in the last bowl game, which was more telling

when the going got tough, he quit

You could of not been watching the same gholston I've been watching.

well you have to factor in that everything chris long does against weak opponents, is somehow superior to what gholston does against weak oponents.

You have to factor in that poor chris has a booboo on his thumb so he couldn't lift weights at the combine.

You have to figure in that chris long had mono etc etc etc.

you have to figure in that the man crush meter on chris long is just simply pegged on this site lately..

oh... did I mention that HOWIE is chris' daddy. big difference. VG doesn't have a hall of famer for a dad, so he will fail in the nfl.

It's funny how someone finally brought up "body of work", ironically it was in chris longs defense.

They both played fairly weak opponents but that is not the point anyone is trying to make when they say that Long's stats are more impressive. What they are sayig however is that playing DE in a 3-4 and racking up the kind of stats he did get is a lot harder to do on a Virginia defense where he is the absolute focal point. This, in comparison with Gholston who played on a defense at OSU with talent all around him and playing in multiple positions where sacks and tackles are easier to come by.

BTW, why would anyone have to figure in a thumb injury when evaluating Long or Gholston? So what, he has a thumb injury and can't participate in bench press. Does that make him less of a prospect? Or does that fact that he did not have to even go to the combine because of his stock in the draft, and then put up great performances in everything, and outperform Gholston make him much, much more of a prospect than Gholston?
