He's going to be owed a lot of money, the Jets very well could cut him. If he's floating around out there I would love to see what the only guy to get a sack on Jake Long his senior year could do. Granted he's been invisible in NY but if we picked him up and revived his career it'd be a double-whamee because we'd get to rub it in Jaba's face.

I hate Rex, but if even Rex couldn't turn him into a decent player, then who can?

he was a player at osu, but he has no drive. Remember even jim Tressel told our f.o. it would be a mistake to take him at 1

yo,your thinking of Cliff Avril....hes the only one to sack against Long...

Goldston was a one year wonder coming out of OSU and had one hell of a combine but has been a complete bust in the NFL and we don't have the time here for people like that(hence the reason I would like to see Ginn out of here if he can't bring it next year).

Yeah right! Then we would have to deal with NyJunc and every other Jets fan on this board busting our balls about digging in their trash!

Gholston was great at OSU because he was able to rely on his strength and athleticism to get the job done. He has no pass rush moves. I remember reading a bunch of interviews from unnamed scouts during his combine workout, and one scout told Gholston to his face "You should be the next Michael Strahan with your ability, but you'll be out of the league in 3 years."

The big thing with him too was that he's a big body builder and there is worries that he's more interested in looking big than improving his game.

If Gholston wants any chance of having an NFL career he needs to go to a 4-3 team.

I am confused are we talking about Gholston or Quinn? :chuckle:

We have a cheaper and much better version of The Ghost on our roster already in Cam Wake. We don't need Gholston.

HELL NO we don't need Gholston...the guy's done absolutely nothing in the pros, and has been a HUGE bust for the Jets, and like SRM said...if Rex can't do anything with him, then i doubt anybody else will be able to either...so no to Vernon "The Ghost" Gholston...
