with the money they make homesick should be the last thing they talk about

it is a little tough tho if you live in FL....it must b kinda tough to bring someone here iwth a hurricane hittin every weekend...........cant fly your family in when thats goin on

This my problem with Wanny and his staff is if you have a guy like Ricky don't you prepare if he goes out and people can say what they want but they never saw Travis as a fill in.Wanny SUX
 
Boo hoo....now that the violin is done playing lets get ready for the game tomorrow. Am I supposed to feel bad for Booker when he won't put in a little effort to catch the ball? Here's an idea Marty, why don't you fly your daughter out to Miami if you miss her so much? Whaaaa Gordon can't find a bank. Dumb article if you ask me. I don't care if they're homesick...they get paid a lot of money to play a game and they're still never happy. Write an article about someone on the team that actually plays good. Enough excuses these guys need to show us that they were worth Ogunleye.
 
This article can not be true. There is no way a professional player will admit to that to the media. NO WAY. Maybe if he was traded from the Dolphins, after the fact, but he would not admit to not paying attention during a game, all while being paid close to 3 million dollars per year. That's BS, don't pay attention to it.
 
How is this negative? I mean, it points to part of the struggle being guys trying to adjust to new surroundings, but that can be overcome with time.

You'd think a team would have a prefered set of apartments, with some "gopher" type team employees to help new players settle in. If that helped you win ONE game during the season, it would be worth it. Give the new guys less to worry about and get them more focused on the playbook.

This, in a way, gives some hope. With time, the new guys will get "with the program" and I would hope to see a more focused offense by the middle of the season. If not, then we are really going to have a terrible season. :shakeno:
 
I think a lot of fans want pre-programmed robots out there instead of humans so we don't have to deal with these kinds of variables.
 
I dont see that article saying anything diff than what I said outside of being homesick. Why is that a negative? I didnt see that they said it suks here, it is a matter of being acclimated and familiar where they are and then come to a new team. In AJs case he was a respected teammate in Philli, he comes here to take a job away from a guy many fans didnt like, but his teammates do. Philli was his home for 3 years, he became accustomed. Booker and Gordon were traded late, so they didnt even have time to move their families here. It would be tough to move away from your wife and kids, having to go home alone every nite. So yeah they will be homesick, everybody misses home when they first move, until the new place becomes home. All part of teh growing pains and why patience will be a big virtue this year.
 
I agree with deus. Article actually gives hope. As bad as both Booker and Gordon played last week, and it was bad, at least this assures that it's not lack of talent. Just need time.

I agree to a certain extent but don't you think the team should go all the way in helping these guys adjust? Find them a house, arrange visits for their family, assign an assistant to familarize them with the area. I know that some championship teams have a higher level of FO in the organization that tries to create a "Feel good" we're the best type of attitude on the team and I think the Dolphins need that!
 
It's a sad commentary on the Dolphins apparent lack of help in adjusting and the thing that bothered me the most was junior saying it took him a year to finally get comfortable.

Add that to the fact that it is apparently okay to drift off on the sidelines while things are being explained by the coach.

It may not be negative from a human nature standpoint but, it practically guarantees that 2004 is going to be a long long season.

For all of us.
 
Many people don't realize that during the season these guys work from morning to night 6 days a week and have no free time. On their off-day after the game they're so sore they can barely get out of bed. If you got transferred to a new place and had 1 day out of the week to get settled in you might find it difficult as well.
