as most of you know i usually only post during the months and days leading up to the draft and FA and usually keep quiet during the season, but i decided i'd get a head start on the draft conversation.

Rd 1. Everette Brown DE/OLB FSU- Parcells likely wants to acquire someone with an LT/Demarcus Ware type game to act as a blitzing linebacker, Joey Porter has done very well this year, but he's on the wrong side of 30 and it's time to start looking to the future of the team. i know a lot of people want to go secondary here because the secondary class isnt very deep, but you can help out your coverage by pressing the QB more.

Rd 2. B.J. Raji NT Boston College- I love the idea of bringing in a big nasty NT to anchor the D-line. Ferguson has done fine this year, but again he is on the wrong side of 30.

Rd 2b. Micheal Hamlin SS Clemson-has good size and 6 int's this season (3 of them came in one game against Citadel, so take with a grain of salt), he's a 4 year starter and should definitely be a step up over Yeremiah Bell.

Rd 3. Brian Robiskie WR Ohio St.- he's having somewhat of an off year, but has still managed to find the endzone 8 times, at 6'3'' 200 he has the size to overpower most NFL corners and obviously would be an excellent compliment to Ted Ginn Jr.

Rd 4. Curtis Taylor FS LSU-gives our secondary good size as both he and Hamlin are 6'3'' and over 200 pounds. he should run in the mid 4.4's at the combine which isnt bad for someone his size. he isnt a complete ball hawk with only 2 int's this year, but he could likely come in and get significant playing time and in round 4 that's pretty good value.

Rd 5. Joe Burnett CB UCF- not the most glamorous name at CB, he has played well with 4ints this season and has averaged about 25yds a return on those Ints, had 6 picks last year as well. his 40 time is cause for concern at 4.48 which is probably why he falls this low, but could be a 3rd corner or FS option.

Rd 6. Ronnie Palmer ILB Arizona- he's a very passionate and talented player who in my opinion has been slightly misused at Arizona. He's a very talented blitzer who doesnt get to blitz very often, could be used situationally on passing downs as he has a good nose for the ball in coverage as well. if nothing else gives us a big body at ILB at 6'3'' 245 because our ILB's are kind of thin.

Rd 7. Willie Tuitama QB Arizona- has a very strong arm and throws an incredibly catchable ball. his numbers are down this year after a fast start, but that might be a bi-product of the disappearance of a running game for a few games causing Willie to force some passes. usually makes about one frustratingly awful pass a game which usually results in an INT, also has a fear of contact (but understandably so, he suffered 3 concussions in about 4 months), but with time in the pocket he makes his reads and progressions quite well and is very adept at checking down. has a knack for recognizing defenses at the line of scrimmage and has improved at this every year. as a 7th round pick and likely 3rd string QB he's low risk, reminds me a bit of a Craig Nall type with some potential and a big arm, but not much more than a backup.

Rd 3. Brian Robiskie WR Ohio St.- he's having somewhat of an off year, but has still managed to find the endzone 8 times, at 6'3'' 200 he has the size to overpower most NFL corners and obviously would be an excellent compliment to Ted Ginn Jr.

I watch Robiskie of Ohio State a lot and he just seems to have fallen off a little. I think if we are going to pick a big WR in the 3rd Round, I would love to get Ramses Barden*, out of Cal-Poly. He's 6'6" and hard to bring down. Here is a kind of a grainy vid of Barden...I think this guy will be the next Randy Moss....taller and stronger than Moss, not quite as fast, but he kills smaller d-backs:

* He'll play in the East-West Shrine Game in Houston on Jan. 17 on ESPN2, in preparation for the NFL Draft scouting combine in Indianapolis from Feb. 18-24.

The Robiskie falloff will happen when you have a QB who can't throw deep with any accuracy, and doesn't look to very often.

I certainly wouldn't mind that draft, but I sure hope we address the our cornerback spot a LOT sooner than round 5. Burnett is a nice prospect, but we need a top guy in the first 2 rounds. I would also rather have Courtney Greene, Rashad Johnosn, or Kam Chancellor for a safety instead of Hamlin assuming that one of them is still there at that spot.

I LOVE Everette Brown right now and really hope we get him in aqua and orange VERY soon!

I aslo agree about that big receiver Barden though, he looks like he could be that next Marques Colston. A small school receiver with BIG time ability. I just hope we make a move on a receiver in the offseason via FA or a trade though, because we have enough projects on this team at that position and we need a true #1 guy once and for all!

Eric Berry is a ball hawk at his Safety position, and not just a ball hawk either...the guy is a playmaker, and i'd LOVE to see us get him when he comes out...

Curtis Taylor FTW!
Raji would be a great pick.
Im a big fan of Hamlin too.

Robiskie? Meh.

I'm with you on Brown, and Raji. Again, Hamlin plays SS. The Dolphins badly need a FS. Robiskie? Meh. Curtis Taylor, I haven't paid too much attention to him so I couldn't give you my honest opinion about him one way or the other. Burnett? Okay, I'm jive with that pick. Palmer much like Taylor, I don't know much about. Tuitama? No!

VERY NICE MOCK especially first 3 picks. EB is awesome.

I like GREG CARR WR FSU in the 6th-7th. He's a big possession receiver, kinda reminds me of Oronde Gadsen. He has some breakaway ability and a raw form of go-and-get-it talent. But most of all he has big strong hands. A terrific compliment to Ginn.
