Its hilarious that everyone thinks Manning is going to take us to a super bowl. His play started declining in terms of interceptions in 09and 10 he threw for 16- 17 picks. and in the playoffs were horrible. He was out all last year with a serious Career Ending injury. By no means am I discounting what Manning could do for us for 2 years. But A) we will be right back in this same place in 2 years. B) After this injury you cannot expect him to come back and throw for 4500 yards and 30 tds. If you really believe that then wake up. I really believe signing Meachem, Grubbs/Nicks, a LB/DE in free agency is the best way to go. I would rather draft a QB in round 1 even if we reach a bit. I am sure alot of people will dis agree with me but giving Manning 15-20 mill is not going to win us a Superbowl.

If his 16 or 17 picks come with 4500+ yards passing and 33 TDs...I think I can live with that. Don't know if you know this but Marino threw 252 INTs in 242 games. That averages out to more than 1 a game or about 16 or 17 INTs a season.

Manning is more than just a thrower though, he reads defenses and he throws with anticipation. He'll adjust to his injury just like Pennington was able to.

It's so much more than just getting one of the greatest QB's of all time. The Dolphins NEED to get their stadium back . . . period. They need to get back those fans who have fell off the train. Sunlife needs to be ROCKING on Sundays, or in primetime . . . or whatever . . . Peyton Manning will rejuvenate a franchise that is in bad need of excitement from their team. Miami had time after time to draft a QB and they passed, they absolutely CANNOT afford to pass up on this opportunity. If Peyton Manning passes, oh well we move on, but it would be criminal if we didn't do everything in our power to get him.

It doesn't hurt that for all of the excitement he would bring, he more than likely is the best QB option we could dream of adding. 15 - 20 million, who cares, we'll make it work.

IF YOU READ WHAT I WROTE I said "His play started declining in terms of interceptions in 09and 10 he threw for 16- 17 picks. and in the playoffs were horrible. He was out all last year with a serious Career Ending injury"

you are in a fantasy land is you think is coming back from this throwing for over 4000 yards

We had 3 crappy QBs throw for almost 3500 yards last year in a run first, ultra conservative offense. I absolutely think Manning could get 4000 yards under Philbin and Sherman, especially Sherman who has been known to be pass happy at times.

My point is that we are not getting the Manning of old and we are probably not going to a Superbowl Manning makes a 10 win team. I am just being a realist to what will happen

U do realize Manning literally carried the Colts for years? He doesn't have to put it all on his shoulders in Miami . . . this team was pretty solid down the stretch last year and gave several teams they lost to a battle. Don't underestimate him . . . him and Marino are still the 2 greatest QB's I have ever watched.

Let's just re sign Henne and continue to lose, I mean why do we want to change things up right! We've become used to losing and everyone that is a fan of the Dolphins' loves them just because they're a laughingstock around the league.

If Manning chooses to come to Miami it will be because of Marshall,Long and our top 5-10 defense. He never had a stout D in Indy even through his Super Bowl and MVP years. With the addition of Manning and the presence he brings to this offense, we find our selves at the top of our division with the patsies but we have a Defense which will only continue to get better. Even if its only 2-4 years, we draft a young QB this draft or next and let him develop behind arguably the "Greatest" QB of all time.

Sorry to burst your anti manning bubble. The colts were not a good team. Not half the talent miami has.

Actually, if you want to know a big reason for peytons down year then look at his injury, dallas clark and austin collie's injuries, and their crappy defense and offensive line. He made the worst team in the nfl a division winner! With fatigue and loss of arm strength, he still threw for 4700 yards... I'm sorry to tell you but, peyton will be healthier and have a better surrounding cast than his "down" year. He was throwing out routes at 44 miles an hour before surgery and still threw for 4700 yards. smh, you people dont know how great peyton actually is!

While I don't know if Manning is the best answer for us or not, I do know that even a 75% Manning is better than anything we've put under center in a long time. The Colts went from a playoff team to the worst record in the league in 1 season because he was out. Short of Luck or maybe RGIII, anyone else we draft is going to take at least 2-3 year to become serviceable. By then, where are our other key pieces we have in place now? (Long, Marshall, Dansby, etc)? Yes, it's a huge gamble, but I think we are ready to take it than gambling on developing someone in a few years from the draft, as there's no guarantees with them either.
