great info on our new QB!

BTW guys for those that were surprised why we didnt get a WR rem. when henning took his team to teh SB with his offensive system he NEVER or should i say the team AND HENNING never had 2-3 good WRs or 1 very good and 1 good. it was awlays lobsided. Smith was always on his own and even until this day he is as i believe after henning they tried to find help for Smith but still can't get that done jsut as we can't get a QB. So ginn and smith play the same role with wilford being the "good" number 2. but wheres the dominant WR? steve smith was but he didnt have another guy beside him. they prob feel ginn can do what smith did although smith is a more aggressive and powerful WR. This system is a RUN FIRST pass 2nd one and i believe at the MOMENT we can work with what we have until the next offseason via FA adn drafts.

Neways, scope this part out....

Henne throws the best deep ball I've ever seen. Whether he's lofting it on the solar winds, waiting for it to glide back down to earth, or launching a 40 yard PRG that has absolutely no arc, Henne can get the ball downfield in ways I haven't seen out of any other college quarterback. Give him a deep threat. Randy Moss would love this guy.
And it's not just deep stuff. Henne throws the ball well all over the field and is especially adept working the sidelines. He has a knack for putting that 20 yard pass right on the line where only his receiver can catch it. Frankly, he throws all the distances relatively well, though his short and long passes are superior to his intermediate routes.

by tough do they mean he shakes off hits or he is HARD to sack?
i hope his "holding onto the ball" stuff ppl say that "might not get corrected" isnt as bad as Rothlisburgers issue.

Bill Polian said that Chad Henne is the best QB prospect in this draft.. That's #1... Who is Bill Polian ? His credentials are off the hook-

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Polian

Bill Polian is the President of the Indianapolis Colts NFL team. He rose to league prominence as the General Manager of the Buffalo Bills, building a team that participated in four straight Super Bowls. Following his stint in Buffalo, Polian went on to become the General Manager of the expansion Carolina Panthers, where his initial success in building what was arguably the most rapidly successful expansion team in NFL history led to his moving on to the Colts. He has won the NFL's Executive of the Year award 5 times (1988, 1991, 1995, 1996, and 1999).

Bill Polian, is very good and if he said that, that is great news.
To me Parcells is very overrated.

I believe Chad has a legitimate chance of starting this season. Him and John's development will be fun to watch!

I would let this guy draft for my team anytime. This guy is the best GM on draft day in the league. Good to see he likes our boy......

I totally agree. The Colts under Bill Polian last year had like 45 players on their roster that were drafted by them.. That's tops in the league

That is amazing amazing AMAZING. So if Bill Polian thinks Chad Henne is the best QB in this draft, I hold that opinion in very high regard.

Like I posted on Sunday night, what was once my most 'iffy' pick is quickly becoming my favorite. Its really growing on me.

That Bill Polian with the ? at the end was obviously for some of the posters here who are on the younger side. Sometimes I look at the ages of "some of you (not all) and I am amazed with how young some of you are. By the way, did you guys know that Bill Polian was once close to becoming the Dolphins GM? Hank Goldberg broke the story way back when he was considering leaving the Bills. Imagine if we snagged Polian where we would be now.

If theres a better regarded GM in the league than Bill Polian, id love to meet him, almost the entire gameday roster of the Colts are players they have molded from rookies, and even their rooks produce...i AM a Beck supporter, but i do understand the Henne pick, dude brings tremendous value at the end of the 2nd round and if Beck isnt the answer, we have a backup that hopefully will be able to grow and flourish. Both Beck and Henne are tough SOBs and they are able to command the offense...i still believe if we put weapons around John he will be able to be a very efficient QB in this league (remember he played WITHOUT Ronnie, a rookie #1 receiver, an offensive line that was downright offensive, AND his security blanket was David Freakin Martin...). I believe the Henne pick just covers our backside just in case Beck doesnt pan out.

To me Parcells is very overrated.

yet he is the one who picked him... Parcells and co gave the Fins the BEST draft they have had in MANY MOONS my friend at least back to Jimmy Johnsons Drafts... Enjoy the new Front Office and show some love..

That is not true at all. Mushin Muhammad and Mangum was used just as much in the passing game as Smith. As a matter of fact the front office thought the same as you and let Moose go and then the whole team sucked. Moose was just as important as Steve.

Achem. Mushin Muhammad, bigger wideout, not fast but good hands. Ernest Wilford? Pretty darn similar skillset. And now Fasano, a real good blocking tight end who has the ability to catch some passes. Much like Mangum.
