i'm just shocked that the colts were able to get manning to sign a contract for 5 years that gave them a free out after one...really shocked...the colts must have saw the writing on the wall here with this neck thing that there was a high possibility he would never be right again...but manning unless he wouldn't have passed a physical should have never signed that deal...

Well, on the plus side for him, it allows him to force his way out of town if the Colts pick Luck. If he had signed a normal deal, it would have forced the Colts to keep him no matter what, even to the point of benching him for Luck.

Thats what I have been saying all along. I can't see Luck sitting behind Manning for 5 years when he would start right away for any other team that drafts him. Those are 5 years he can't get back.

That could cost him a ton of money also. If he sits behind Manning for 5 years, that is that much longer he has to wait before he has a chance to show if he is the next coming of Elway or Manning. If he starts right away, and does indeed live up to the hype, he will have a new huge contract in about 3 years.

At least that is what I think.

Bottom line: Give me Luck im ecstatic, give me Manning im slightly less ecstatic but still overjoyed.....Colts get both of them: time to wage war on Indianapolis.

Branch manager at my work is from Indy and we talk alot about who will get Luck. He said the rumors around Indy is that Manning has been told if he played again, having 2 fused vertebrae, he could risk paralysis from the neck down. Just a rumor right now.
