i dont think we controlled our own destiny going into the final 2 games in 2013, but as it turned out we just needed to win 1 of the last 2 games. at buffalo, and home to jets. this year its at buffalo and home to pats. we were 8-6 in 2013 and 9-5 this year but almost exact circumstances with the wild card, just substitute the pats for the jets.

I trust Gase will do a better job than good ol' Joe did back then. Also, our OL was a disaster that year.

Big wins over Pittsburgh and New England (2013), Big wins over Arizona and New York (2016) check.

Trip to Buffalo, Deja Vu.

Time to rewrite history....and make up for that collapse

Similar yes but different circumstances. Buffalo and the Jets that year were out of contention. This year Buffalo has an outside shot at the postseason while New England is New England.

That's why this game is super important to change the culture here.

The team did control its own destiny in 2013. If they had won either game, they were in. But, of course, they lost both. And badly.

Thankfully this guy won't be in attendance

That team didn't deserve to go to the playoffs. This is a completely different team.

I have said it from the beginning I liked the gase hire so I don't think you will suffer the same fate BUT at that time had you won one of those last 2 I think Philbin would have been a serious COY candidate. he did a great job that season until those final 2 games where the team collapsed. that is where his coaching career turned and he was never really able to recover.

Good point, After that collapse he got queasy

It seems like every week we're saying that "this is the game we need to win" to prove that we're not the same old dolphins. Then after we win THIS game we're all saying the same thing next week

You are %100 correct. If anyone still doubts that this team has turned a serious corner from the last few seasons, well, I just don't know what to tell you...

again, I don't think this is the same but the same stuff was being written on here about that 2013 team w/ 2 weeks to go.

It was the same with RT before he went down.

That Jets game, particuarly was an Epic failure. They were playing for for Rex's job, but we let Geno freaking Smith beat us at home.

And he actually looked good doing it. one of Ryan's worse games as a Fin too. I'm a Ryan guy, but he was dreadful that day, If i recall he threw I want to say 3 picks?
