We all know how much Rex Ryan LOVES to blitz and I bet he is foaming at the mouth to try and get after our young QB.

lol I just find it interesting that through four games the Jests(lol) have only sacked the QB four(4) times! Thats tied for 2nd to last in the NFL. Obviously this does not include pressures. But it just shocked me when I was sifting through statistics on nfl.com.

We all know thats they have a very solid secondary. But there front 7 on defense, minus Jenkins, does not frighten me in the least. If Grove does his Job on big ol' Jenkins in the middle(the reason we acquired grove) this will mean big things for our running game.

I just think before we proclaim the Ryan lead Jets defense dominate we should look at the stats. They have not proven they can stop the run all that well. Ranking 13th in the NFL, mediocre at best. They are very solid against the pass ranking 6th in the nfl. They are solid at forcing turnovers with 8 on the year. All these stats are solid but none of them are overly impressive to me.

If we take care of the ball we will have a very good chance at winning this game. I have faith Henne can make enough plays with his arm early to soften up that Defense to make way for the running game. We are the best in the business at running the football(it feels great to say that). Best in the game at 3rd down conversions at over 50%. And Sunday was our first turnover-less game. I like our chances on Monday! We are also the best in terms of time of possession.

Take care of the ball and protect Henne. I know for a fact Channing and the boyz will come to play. This is our recipe for success on Monday night.

Note: For all you die hards going to the game! Please oh please be loud as possible! I want ol' Sanchize to be very intimidated by the atmosphere come Monday night! BTW - we need to get after him and quick!

Have a great week everyone! Enjoy the game on Monday! God Bless!

We need to keep their D off balance with some early screens to Ronnie and Ricky we can slow the blitz down and help get Chad in rhythm early. Justin Smiley and Donald Thomas will be the key to the game, if we want to run the ball they will have to help out on Chris Jenkins

The only problem is that if they are able to completely shut down our passing game, they will be able to stack the line. They may just try man coverage, thinking that we won't be able to beat them 1-on-1 with our receivers. If Henne could get a throw in on them 1-on-1, we could get an easy TD. If we can't throw early though to loosen things up...we may be in for a long night.

Even though the stats are clearly in our favor, the fact remains we are 1-3 and the Jets are 3-1.

And I am surprised also at the Jets defense statistical rating.

Stats speak volumes, but they don't tell the whole story... watch back the teams the jets faced so far:

-houston: they allowed 7 points to an offence that scored about 30 points on every other opponent they faced

-new england: holding off new england to 9 points is another great outing for the jets defence...

-tennessee: they allowed 17 points to a team that averages just about that ... so this might've been their worst game, but hey they won it

-Saints:they allowed 24 points errrr i mean 17 points (sanchez threw a pick six) to the best offence in pro football (IMO...)

That defence is solid... i don't care where they rank, they are carrying this team so far, the media is drinking the sanchez kool-aid but it's all about their defence.

Some might argue and say "yeah well, they have a good run game" or "yeah but sanchez plays smart football"

sheeshhh, give me a break. 3 turnovers against houston and they blow them out, 2 turnovers against the patriots and they win, 3 turnovers against the titans, 4 against the saints
almost all of those turnovers are sanchez INT or fumbles... so that argument doesn't stand at all

the run game, well, you don't need a rocket-scientist to understand that the jets don't have a good one (not bad, probably right in the middle of the pack... )

in the end, what is there to look for in that jets team ? why are they 3-1 ?

defence

I agree. Its gonna be a hard hitting TOUGH game. I don't think were gonna get outhit, but if we do then were in for a LONG game. I hope we win cuz If we do then that's a huge momentum swing for the season. Cant wait for the game

Its not really all that surprising. Their best pass rusher has been out the first 4 games....its a little scary to think how much better they can be with Pace back. Gholston still looks clueless out there most of the time.

If the phins can win the turnover battle and run like they have all season they can beat anyone. Hopefully the phins d can force Sanchez into more mistakes than the Jets can Henne.

Don't worry. If JT and Wake keep it up, Sanchez will be dirty enough.

Yea the Jets d is Solid, I mean i was watching them and they made a great stand from a stopping the Saints 4 times when they needed 1 yard.

Its going to be tough game, i hope no one thinks this game is easy cause we could very well lose. Henne has to be turnover free i think.

We need to get to sanchez on D and i think that will carry us, our offense i predict will not fare as well but i feel we will catch a break.

I Predict a 31-24 win, but most of our points coming from turnovers

Didn't the Saints get 2 TDs on Defense?

I think this will be the game the wildcat makes a big difference. The wildcat was designed to excell vs a team like the Ravens last year. The ravens D NEVER stopped us last year we stopped our self. Our interior line was beaten by every one on one situation vs the ravens D, but this year we have completely different personal. This year there will be nobody to win every POA double team. If we get hat on hat we will crush the jets like we should have crushed the ravens in the playoffs.

Another thing is we have yet to pass out of the wildcat. That will change this week. Rex just thinks he can over blitz the wildcat and it will fold up like a tent like it did last year. He will find out different. With a different OL the wildcat has the potential to put up HUGE numbers vs an overaggressive defense, without every throwing a single pass. One small hole and Ronnie or Ricky will be 80 yards gone. If they start blitzing safeties like we know they will, we will get some big play chances in the wildcat pass package.

We have really yet to see the next page of the wildcat. I think this is the week we get to see it.

Our pressure ahs been amazing, we have been harrassing QBs into bad decisions creating incompletions and turnovers. You SHOULD be scraed of our front 7 b/c they will bring pressure to henne forcing him into bad decisions. We didn't sack Tom Brady once in week 2 yet we harrassed him all game and he was worried more about the blitz than finding his receivers.

You guys are in for a huge surpise when you see this defense. It's obvious not many of you guys have watched us play. First I see the rushing #s "proving" we can't stop the run and now the sack #s showing that we don't pressure the passer well. All I'll say is you are in for a shock when you see our D.

Nobody hasn't seen your Defense....everyone saw the Ravens last yr....and they're better at it than you guys are.

Their pass D might not be rated as high, but they have not given up 100 yards rushing in 37 games!!!! The Jets have done it 2 or 3 times already....YOU'RE NOT THE RAVENS!!!!

Yes there is going to be pressure, Rex's scheme is extremely unothrodoxed....I get it.

We're not playing the same Jets team we played last year, but you're not playing the same Dolphins team either.

Just keep looking at the record and think it will be a pushover...maybe Rex will too.

If anyone is "surpised" when they see the D they are only fooling themselves. I think most of us know the Jets D is nasty. Im not worried about Henne in the man on man coverage im worried about our Wr's being able to get seperation. Our O line has been very shakey in pass protection but we are number 1 in the NFL in rushing for a reason. I trust we dont want to lose 2 home MNF games in the first 5 weeks of the season. I think this is a week Sean Smith my struggle there is no big WR for him to man up its mostly smaller shiftier guys. This week we go back to playing vs a top 10 TE again so this might be a little ugly. If the pass rush is strong we should be okay.
