very, VERY good read on state of the team........

How many times has holding been called against the guy trying to stop Wake? And I remember at least 1 sack of his called back b/c of a stupid penalty. I get what the article is trying to say, but please don't equate production with only sacks

So there's been good production from Wake and OV?

Please.

Terrible play. Can't stop run and can't rush the passer. OV has always been overrated by this board. And Wake is falling off a cliff with his performance, starting the tail end of last year.

Washed up and overrated = nothing on the DL apart from SUH.

The only stat that Suh cares about his his bank account

Wake has 16 tackles and 3 sacks his last 12 games. Vernon has been missing since his rookie season. Neither will be dolphins much longer.

Suh is doubled and Wake is hurt, but Vernon is simply being exposed as a low level player in a contract year. It's something most of us Dolphins fans saw already, but the national media is finally taking notice.

You guys are being to hard in my opinion. Wake has a hammy. He's not "done". He's coming off an 11.5 sack season. OV is a good player. He'll find his game. Scheme and QBs chucking the ball in < 2 ticks is why they don't have more sacks. The run game problems is just as much on the LBs.

agree w everything except "low level player". Didn't he have double digit sacks recently? He's a good player. Not great but good.

I saw the plays from the Buffalo game they damn sure wasnt throwing the ball in under 2 seconds most of the time, he had all day on the clay pass.
They are not geting more sacks because they are not getting enough pressure

What about the leg whip play on OV during week one in wash? Could be why

agree. I think they are both playing hurt enough that it is affecting their games to where they can't beat 1:1 blocks.

It doesn't help that we are giving quarterbacks easy completions, either. Nothing on the defense is working right now, and I do not think that's 100% on the players.

He missed on the Canes game!

I completely agree. It's the defense as a whole. I hate to keep doing it, but even with Suh there is no comparison with our current players AND scheme to the players and scheme of the early 2000's.
I won't pick on individual players after 3 games. We know the abilities of Suh and Wake. They just aren't doing it right now. I will go more toward fault being in the scheme as a whole for the moment. We need more effective blitz packages, corner blitzes, shake ups, and press coverage by our corners. Try it Coyle, you might like it, may even save your job.

Pretty much! Now that I've actually started to rewatch the games you realize how bad OV really is at his position. He routinely gets abused by the much bigger and stronger line-man in passing and especially in the run game. Wake not so much! His problem is tied to OV on the other side and the lack of t back-end support causing the QBs to hold onto the ball a second quicker.

All of us already knew this. Suh is doing his job and is doing what was expected. It's wake (who we should have traded this offseason) and Vernon that are the failures. According to Phailbin Add Philips to the list of failures - moron
