Ok, so I have this source that may be known and do not want to air it out in even the VIP forums. So please discuss ahere and keep to yourselves.

Apparently while prepping for the press confence or shortly before that, the dolphins were having Drew brees jerseys made. This lead to some late second rumors that it was indeed brees. Why they did this I have no clue but It happened!!! A few people inside the organization got burned by it as well, not as in fired but said something and then looked really bad afterwords.

Theres lots to discuss like was it a press screen sheild? was it a last second thing? the list could go in.

Granted its all over now and I got who I wanted... was interesting to see that brees jerseys were ordered by the front office for a press conference!
 
I would say that there were numerous discussions on which player would fit comfortable under the Dolphins CAP. As we have come to know Brees priced himself out of the running, while Minny was willing to negotiate with us for DC.
Pretty sure Drew would have performed well for us, but he wanted his money quickly, since his injury could result in shortening his career...

Certainly possible that it got to that point. I don't remember a press conference though.

How many of these jerseys were made??
 
Interesting news. Could it be that the FO knew how serious Drew's shoulder was and still had decided that he was the best fit or is it more likely that the definitive evidence of the injury was the reason the deal was nixed?
 
Man...wouldn't it be the **** to get one of those jerseys?!? Imagine walking into the stadium....the looks on everyones face would be priceless....:lol:
 
Very interesting, I will be watching Brees to see if his shoulder indeed falls off. He looked okay this past weekend.

A smoke screen seems a bit crazy don't you think?

Something like Disnardo said or the MRI's came back worse then thought?
 
Just like in stamps that are made by error those Jerseys could become valuable collection items if anyone can get a hold of them.:wink:

No, from my source they said they were ordered to make some official and start the machines for the replica's, This was the story right up to the press conference.
