i have an inkling that Vick is going to be a stand-in in the preseason for Daunte Culpepper, especially since Pep's style is different that most anyone on the Dolphins has see. i think Vick will work to help get our guys used to a strong armed running QB.

First he has to be offered a contract..remember this is just an extended tryout...but, there's similarity between DC and MVs style of QBing...

im going to laugh when vick doesnt make it past that mini camp and all these threads turn out to be a waste

Sounds logical. The thing that will be funny that is if by some chance Marcus squares himself away and actually become a decent citizen and ambassador for the Dolphins and makes a helluva backup to C-Pep...I wonder how many doubters will give respect to the young man.

Because most if not all have done ignorant things growing up. I know I have. But when you come across men like Saban who will take a chance to understand you and mold you. The probability of you becoming productive in any aspect of life is high. I think he did great with Ricky....Doesn't Nick have a degree in sports psychology?

There's no other way to put it...

I agree completely. All these people are holding their breath like he'll make the team and want to talk about how much potential he has. There's not enough film to say he has such great potental. Hell he only played one full season while at VT. The way everyone talks about potential, you'd think his only season's stats would be unbelievable, but that's just not the case. The truth is nobody knows what he can do at a collegant level let alone the pro level. Therefore he's just another walk on, not a steal.

When applied to the subject of NFL football;

Higher than without good help, perhaps, but certainly not a "high probability" of success at this level in Pro football. Maybe his best chance anywhere...ok, I would agree to that, I am confident Nick's staff will do their best to give him the opportunity TO succeed, but it's not a given. I think "high probability" is a looooong stretch if applied to a pro football career at this time. He has yet to show unsupervised responsibility in his life, so we'll just have to see how it all unfolds.

That could be very well be one possibility, but definitely not the sole reason and it's definitely too early to tell if that's the case because we don't even have him under contract or anything. But that could be one of probably a few reason why we're interested in Marcus Vick.

Marcus Vick is coming in so we can take a look at his incredible athletic ability and the possibility that he has actually learned some lessons about life. If he can't work within the framework that Saban sets up for his players then he will be out on his butt no matter what kind of natural talent he possesses.

some of you who are saying that everyone makes mistakes need to realize what he has done. he has done alot of bad things. he has raped a girl, stuck a gun at someone in robbery, stuck his middle finger up at the crowd, stepped on a football players, and there are other things too. I'm sure I left some things out. all of those things have finally resulted in him being kicked out of college. to be honest I think VT gave him too many chances but anyway. my point is that he has done way more than the average person has. don't get me wrong I hope this guy turns it around and becomes a good QB but to say he has just made some mistakes is an understatement

Isn't Lemon already the stand in for a mobile QB? Didn't he do that last year for Michael Vick?

Amen brotha!! :rawk:

Why Just QB

Has anyone considered him to be a kick returner. He should have learned his lesson by now and with Nick in charge he should be able to help mold this kid.

Why not safety? He obviously loves to hit on people...
