I realize this topic has been played out already so please forgive my redundance, however just who are these people crying about Vicks departure? He's a thug and a criminal. If you go to any prision in any state I guarentee you you will find 10 guys who can make the same catch he made last week at the end of a meaningless preseason game. Why do you think every other team didnt draft him nor sign him? Because he is a loser and will always be. People generally dont change. Saban of all people thinks he has the power to change kids thats why he was a college coach. If he passes on this kid then who the hell am I to second guess that. And the same people complaining now will be the ones crying the loudest when he gets busted (and he will) for beating some girl at the BK lounge or stealing a cell phone some where. Just like when ricky got busted the second time so many people came out of the closet with the "I told you threads!" So I'd like to hear somone convice me with a reasonable argument just why his value is of such importance to the Historic Miami Dolphins, a team that carried the likes of Dan Marino, Larry Czonka, Zach, J.T., Bob Griese, and I could go on. So, somone please tell me what the Hell Marcus Vick has that we just couldnt survive without. "This is my Opinion!"

oh please, our Tightends a wife beater, traylors a drunk, morris is under suspension right now, rickys a pothead, culpeppers a sex boat party animal, you really think marcus vick is THAt much worse???

Not to undermind our team, because i love them, but lets be honest, most players in the league are not exactly 'clean'

So now that you got that off your chest, what is your argument for keeping Vick. Where is his value? Can he stop the run? Can he rush the passer like a mutha'? Can he deflect a 50 yard pass before the receiver runs away with it? No. He catches a little and could be an NFL europe QB at best.

Yup...parole and probation departments across the country probably have to hire extra officers just to keep track of the NFL players. :lol:

What's more Danny Marino had a penchant for nose candy. No one is perfect, but I can't understand how you can't support someone trying to turn their life around. Everyone on this board was riding Santonio Holmes' jock when it was draft time, and he promptly got arrested TWICE this offseason, with a hamstring injury to boot...Marcus was a good samaritan compared to that loser. I wanted Vick to make the team because his diversity gives us so much to work with and I would have loved to see his development, but hey it didn't make it so let's move on.

Oh yeah, Thanks that's right I forgot about that one storyline on Miami Vice when Crocket and Tubbs had to run down Dan Marino the ruthless columbian Drug Lord who smuggled coke in his footballs.

My arguement for keeping vick? well, the guys an athlete, more so then half our current roster. Personally, i don't care if hes on the team or not. However, we're talking about a player whose played quarterback the past few years, a player who came into camp amidst plenty of adversity, and was ONE SPOT away from making this team at a position he did not play in college. If nothing else he showed heart, and determination. A lot of guys could have curled up into a ball and hid from the world after the mistakes he made in college. But he came here, he worked really hard and fought through his own bad reputation and he showed something. Saban himself said he wants Vick to stay within the organization, and vick has proven hes not gonna give up.

Dan Marino was from Columbia? I didn't know he played in the Ivy League, I thought he played his college ball at Pitt. :sidelol:

Do you really feel it's appropriate to spread unsubstantiated rumors on the Internet?

If he never got into trouble you really think so? I seriously think Vick is a great player, he has all around talent.

Cant argue with much of that but I think his risk far outweighs his potential. Look, the NFL isnt always a fair place and if Vic was as good some of the first round quarterbacks then a lot of teams would look the other way. I know that but his skill's arent any better then the other guys on the team already so I just dont think he has enough positive's to risk hurting the rest of the team.

Who gives a **** man? You're beating a dead horse. The guy was not going to be a contributer on this team and no one said otherwise. But there are alot of people, including myself, intruigued at the prospect of having a player that can becontribute in so many roles.... but no one is heralding his as the next face of the Miami Dolphins like you seem to think. The kids made some big mistakes in the past, but hes out there working hard like everyone else trying to make this team, and while you don't have to respect him as a person, at least give him some respect as a player....he showed he can play. If he does screw up again...its not going to hurt anyone but himself.

I know you hate to hear this, but he DOES have the athletic talent to contribute at some point in the future on an NFL team, and thats all that matters here. I'm not here as a football fan to discuss the personal affairs of 22 year old men, I'm here to talk about football. Your really wasting your time by bitching to people who want to talk football about what some kid did at McDonalds last year.

If the English language had a sound effect for eye-rolling, I'd type it here. Instead, I'll just use the emoticon: :rolleyes:

A drunk is his own problem until he starts smacking people or driving;
Morris was suspended for using a team physician-prescribed medicine;
Ricky was suspended for a substance found in an herbal supplement (and not the green leafy kind with its own magazine);
Culpepper spent the entire time on the Love Boat playing craps in the back.

Marcus Vick, meanwhile, has committed statutory rape after getting a minor drunk and high, has been charged with three counts of brandishing a firearm, has been charged with driving recklessly and with a suspended license, and possession of marijuana. Marcus Vick doesn't aspire to be like his brother, he aspires to be like Maurice Clarett.

The only possible transgression you've listed that could stand up to what Vick's done is the wife beating.
