VIDEO: Dolphins Raiders 1973 AFC Championship

One of my favorite Miami Dolphins games of all-time. That Raiders team really was the only thing standing in Miami's way of winning a championship.

The very next year Oakland beat Miami in the “sea of hands game” and I had a tantrum and cried like a baby. I was only nine years old, so cut me some slack. Now I only have the tantrum without the crying when they lose 😂
That’s a hell of a lot of tantrums you’ve had over the past two decades, unless it’s only when they lose in the playoffs.

Funniest part is near the end at 2:35:38 the Sperry commercial and how the draft takes place. Honestly, those two guys would have been out on their ass years earlier if that's how they deal with their team's selection in actual time.

That's awesome. I will check it out.

Speaking of that era, here is an interesting article I came across on Csonka, Warfield, and Kiick leaving for the WFL, including the circuitous route to Memphis. Tragic that this happened to the fans. I assume the players only got a fraction of what they were owed. Needless.

That game was traumatic for me too, at 12 I thought I was going to have to fight my friends dad for being such an ass. I wasn't the same for weeks, we were the better team.

That one hurt so much, my best friend was a Steelers fan, and though we were both extremely young, we were already talking smack to each other in the expectation of playing in the championship game.

I thought it was going to happen, and Miami was on their way to a chance for a ridiculous 4th straight SB appearance. That one has stuck with me like a horrible nightmare.
