Video: Every deep pass of Tua in 2021

More good than bad that's for sure. If he gets just a bit more velocity on these, he will be fine.

What stands out are the touch passes. Around the 5th pass on the video he places the ball in between an underneath corner and a Saftey that's over the top and puts the ball in the perfect spot. Overall a very encouraging video.

A couple things that stand out here.

1. When Tua has time to make his regular drop and then throw without the rush immediately being in his face, he is amazing. The off-script plays need to improve though.

2. Our receivers were never open. They were pretty much always covered by someone or multiple defenders. Hopefully our new offense this year will scheme guys open.

3. We will miss Devante Parker and Mack Hollins. Those guys were great at making those contested catches. Maybe Preston Williams can fill that role but he’s never been able to stay healthy.

Overall it’s a very positive video. There were some great throws and some that leave you scratching your head, but there were many more good ones than bad. If Tua can improve his throws on the run (and stay healthy) I think we’ll be set at QB for a while.

Hollins being let go will be a bigger issue that Parker being traded.

Maybe when it comes to special teams.
Parker when healthy reminded me of Chris Chambers with his sick toe taps on the sidelines as well as his one handed catches.
He will be missed.

We missed Devante plenty when he was on our roster.

We don’t need more contested catches. We need guys getting open. Hill and Wilson are massive improvements over those two. Not even in the same stratosphere. But I do love/miss Mack. Not a great receiver, but always came thru w key plays.

Hopefully the Oline additions give us some time. A lot of those plays had the pocket breaking down. Wish we improved at one more spot, but w/e.

Add a real Oline (hopefully) and more than 1 receiver that can separate, and we’ll see how these plays look next year.

What strikes me is the lack of velocity......

Whatever constitutes “velocity” in the message forum world, it seems a lot of members here are lacking it.

What strikes me (other than that) is the same people starting thread after thread repeating the same thing ad nauseam. I guess they foolishly believe if they keep saying over and over like a mantra it’ll become truth.

Like Hollywood, none of these people can come up with anything new apparently.

I don't disagree that we need guys getting open and I suspect we'll see more of that this season, but in the NFL you need guys to make contested catches. The defensive guys are getting paid too and they're good at what they do.

We still have Gesicki, who is a great contested catch “TE” . And hopefully EZ can develop, bc that skill is in his arsenal.

But Parker’s admittedly very good ability to win at the catch point is kind of negated by the fact he was literally dead last in separation.

So seems we agree not everyone should be an undersized speedster and you should have guys w a variety of skill sets.

But Parker is simply too one dimensional. I’m not calling him trash or saying he’d be of no use. I’d just rather have the 3rd round pick.

Neither will be an issue.

Let's be honest here. If losing guys that are either a deep depth/ST player, or an often injured borderline #1 player are big issues then we aren't ready to compete with the top teams anyway.

I can't lament the loss of either of those players.

The strongest group on the team is our WR corp. Among the best in the league. If there’s any problems there in 2022, we have BIG problems.
