Video - Every Ryan Tannehill Dropback Vs Titans Week 1

After watching this, a few passes to Grant I think Ryan expected Grant to jump up for the ball, this is where Ryan misses Parker. Parker back and Gesicki gets into the game plane more were gonna be fine.

He was good. Ball placement was good aside from the red zone pick. The Grant interception seemed to be miscommunication so I don’t kill him for that. Typical “ Good Tannehill” performance all in all. His warts usually appear in games like this upcoming Sunday tho.

Missed the sticks primary concept wheel route on the rub vs man at the 2:55 mark but hit the secondary to amendola so I didn’t grade him down there.

Rub concept with the wheel though to drake gains the sticks not really sure why he came off of it but it’s there.

The Gesicki jump ball was an atrocious pass- atrocious. The entire point of the jump ball is to almost overthrow the guy so he has to (wait for it) jump UP and catch it over the defender, not jump back and catch it infront of the defender.

Even more atrocious was the rookies attempt to break up the play. The lack of instinct to fight back for the ball, and more, the embarrasment of falling forward as if lacking all control of his body is alarming. Yeah, its only one play but I don't think it couldve looked worse even if scripted and directed by James Cameron.

I hate- HATE- the jump ball pass play. I dont care how big the wr is over the CB. The title of the play is basically a toss up. OCs are paid for toss up plays or to be creative?

All I see are a bunch of rinky dink throws. We will never be elite this way. We have not been the type of team to sustain long drives on dink and dunk plays. We F ourselves 8 out of 10 times F with penalties. We need to push the ball downfield much more often than we do.

Having said that, the majority of rinky dink throws are fast, smart and on target. I dont think its Tannes fault. We dont have a monster down-the-field Julio Jones type to push the ball.

The story of Tanne in Miami is and always will be: he does the best he can with what he's got. It's really not more complicated than that.

BTW ty very much for the game tape- awesome. :edit:

The downfield throws will come when either Gesicki becomes more physical, Parker returns or teams start loading up against the run daring us to beat them deep.

You gonna be waiting a while on the gesicki part.

Gonna be running a lot of rub concepts as long as we are fielding nothing but smurfs.

Thing is too you try to force something and throw high with these smurfs vs 2 deep the balls coming back at you.

It’s not hard to overthrow small catch radius and small especially when you have to drop it over the lb level.

I hate the 50/50 ball as well. Fools used to say, "throw it up for Marshall" and I countered that that's low percentage football and got killed on here. I hate the damn jump ball and I hated it just as much when I was hearing Gesicki was supposedly having a 100% success rate in practice. Who was he going against, Loggains?

I'm clamoring for DVP unlike many. No way that guy is living up to his billing but he brings something different to or WR core. I'm actually excited to see him out there.

I’m counting the days til dvp comes back. Timing routes back on the table and threaten the intermediate level with square ins etc.

I’m not buying into the gesicki stuff as a rookie at least. There’s no separation and he doesn’t use his body in his stem to create it. He relies on athleticism and body control and catch radius when the balls in flight. That’s a tough way to make a consistent production living. I’ve pretty much already decided there what do I have in 2 years.
