I have finally figured out how to edit videos. I have posted one video of all the plays Satele played in at the Senior Bowl on You tube. I think he did a great job there and you can now judge it for yourself. He plays with #64 at center but played LG on the last couple of plays.

Nice man. He looks pretty immovable against college talent. Let's see how he handles some NFL nose-tackles. I'd love to see a center again that can handle a NT one-on-one!

Interesting battles with Tank Tyler. Run blocking is going to be an issue with him I think, when you put a big ugly in his face right on his nose.

Thanks for the video. It is much appreciated.

After watching Satele's stance, it is understandable why people say he may have trouble with run blocking. I am not a fan of that butt to the ground technique. I guess when you pass as often as Hawaii does, it works for them.

his run blocking really worries me... he couldn't overpower and didn't have very good technique... scares the living **** out of me because we need a good center

I'm not sure how many centers in the NFL would be expected to overpower Tank Tyler one-on-one in run blocking. There are a lot of combo blocks in the NFL with the Center.

After watching Hadnot miss seeing a delayed blitzing LB who was so obvious it was sickening, I think Satele's pass blocking will be a refreshing change.

Mangold couldn't move Tyler

Ryan Kalil couldn't

a young Mawae couldn't

Dwight Stephenson would have pancaked him

When did a Mawae play against Tyler?

Me neither. Being rocked back on the heels at the snap makes it hard to drive-block and fire off (and over) the ball and LOS. Still... I loved that his head was always on a swivel. I onlty saw one blitz (penetrate the middle in those, and one nice side-step pass rush from a Dlineman that beat him. Otherwise he looked good. He is amazingly mobile and aware, finishing very nicely. OInce he locks on someone, it's done, they're out of the play. Unfortunately he doesn't seem to get much push at all on inside runs... but hey, that what they invented 300 lb gurads to help with! lol.

You noticed that too, I kept seeing a stale mate in run blocking until he got going. He won't have that luxury against a Sam Adam type or Wilford, huge guys to who can go if the center can't budge them. His pass blocking looked decent, but his intial step on run blocking looked suspect. Hopefully Houck is working on that with him.

If you're running up the A gap and your blocking responsibilities dictate that your 300 pound Center go straight up against a 340 pound DT, you deserve to suffer the no-gain.

I think he will do well in pass blocking, but he is not cutting it at run blocking. I would hate for Cory S. to waste his blocks at the line as opposed to opening up the second level. In the end, it will be decided on Sundays.
