VIKES DON'T WANT QUINN?
If quarterback Brady Quinn gets past the Browns at No. 3, he could end up sliding all the way to No. 9, to the Dolphins. Though many believe that he'd be taken by the Vikings at No. 7, word is that the Vikings don't want him.
Last year, Minnesota traded up in round two in order to get Tarvaris Jackson, and it's too early to give up on him.
With that said, we're hearing that the Vikes would consider bumping Jackson to the curb if JaMarcus Russell could be reeled in.

i don't think so either,,i wrote the other day that rick speilman was on tv doing some really bad acting on how they may take brady quinn,it was pathetic and obvious to me he was bluffing,,,what a putz

to me it's all on Cleveland, do they take Quinn or Peterson??(first two will be Russell and Thomas assuming not trades of course meh).

90% chance that Quinn will not be there at #7. If by crazy chance he is......guess what....the Vikings will scoop him up. I repeat, the Vikings will draft him....and Spielman will grin like a Cheshire Cat.

U r correct my friend

If Detroit cant trade they take Gains. But i agree it all lies with Cleveland. just hope they dont spoil the party.

Why woudl Detroit take Gaines over Thomas ? They have ZERO O-line. Their line is worse than ours.

ive never thought the vikings would take Quinn... it makes zero sense...

they have the same administration/coaching staff that just one year ago invested a 2nd (which they got via trade and had to give up 2 3rds) for jackson... now many people questioned if they traded up out of desperation to get a QB after the Jets traded up above them to snatch Clemons who many believe the vikes wanted...

now your saying that administration is going to admit that they ****ed up so soon? they are going to have to admit they wasted 2 extra 3rd round picks for nothing to move up and get Jackson? they are going to give up on that experiment and have that on their draft resume without at least giving it a chance? no way no how... i dont see it...

admitting you wasted a pick is one thing, admitting you traded up to waste a pick on a QB you proclaimed as the future is another... i cant see that administration risking their jobs by admitting such inadequacy after giving Jackson only 2 starts in his rookie year...

but they have a left tackle... Oline isn't just one position you can lump up like that... they have Jeff Backus who just last year they gave something like a 6 year $40 mil contract...

Don't ever say "bumping him to the curb". That sounds like something my grandma would say

It's not about admitting they ****ed up it's about making your football team better. You guys are in denial you concoct all kind of crazy scenarios about having Quinn fall to us. You all agree the qb position is the most important if you have an opportunity to improve your situation you do that. Yes, they still have Jackson. Even though he's been in the NFL a year I'm pretty sure Quinn is still closer to getting on the field. Worst case scenario they both become pretty good qbs you trade Jackson in the future and atleast you get some kind of return on your investment.

im not creating any crazy scenario? wtf? all im saying is i never figured the Vikings would take Quinn...

and as much as you dont want to believe it, the FO and head coaches are under a lot of pressure in todays NFL, they can get fired real quick, they cant show incompetence in the draft just one year after making the pick by saying you really have no faith in the kid and he wont be your franchise QB, because really that is the only reason you take Quinn, if you think Jackson cant cut it...

you dont draft quinn and say "well we do like jackson, its just uhhh we want to have 2 great QBs", you cant justify that on a team that has other holes... that would be like Arizona taking Quinn, that doesn't make sense... sure it could be great to have both end up as superstars, but there are other needs on the teams to be addressed...

they drafted Jackson and basically said hes gonna be their future QB, to turn around now 1 year later and say, ok we ****ed up, we didn't scout the kid right, we reached, we picked in desperation, we should have never done it is a really bad mark on the entire administration... a mark that can effect careers... you dont take that risk without at least giving the kid a chance to prove himself...

If memory serves correctly didn't that SanDiego take Rivers after they already had Brees. Yea, your right it could never happen.

that was after brees being on the team for 3 years... with 2 full seasons of starting experience... and in those 2 years Brees wasn't cutting it...

compare that to Jackson's 1 year with the team, with 2 games of starting experience...

obviously its not even close to the same situation, so instead of being a wise ***, do some research...
