I dont think linehan will go to a team like the vikings just because moss isnt there no more linehan is good but moss made him look even better


I think if we lost it might be to a team like the texans with a lot of offensive potential that never performed up to expectations
 
minny is one of the teams in the NFL that is cheap when it comes to paying their coaches. thats one of the reasons why linehan left. miami offered him more money than he could have made in minny as an OC. heck, the fins prob pay him more that minny would want to pay him as a rookie head coach!! I think linehan sees whats going on down in Miami and he wont want to leave unless hes going to get PAID! He'll stick around for a while. especially if we start to win. B4 new england lost both cordinators, coaches refused jobs elsewhere to stay in NE. lets hope miami will be one of those teams that coaches want to coach for and not leave!!!

Too bad, too sad for the Vikes. He wanted to come to a team that can win games, not a troublemaker team that will lose games.
 
i doubt he'd be hired by the vikes. with new ownership they may go out and get someone who's a little more seasoned. also, he's making $750K/year with us, would the vikes pony up more cash than that???/

They just changed ownership, so you can't really say that this applies anymore.

If he is getting the head coaching job, of course they would pony up more money than what we are paying him, and it is a Head Coaching job. Heck I would dump us. It's new ownership, they are not going to offer him less, and I am sure he is going to be considered for a head coaching job, and I am sure that Viking players will like him because they have already worked for him.
 
If the Vikes were to put an offer out to him, it would most likely be in the 1.5-2.5M range; that would be anywhere from twice to 3+ times his present salary.

Add to that the opportunity to build his own team around some decent core talent, plus a high position in the 2006 draft, and you've got an offer he most likely not be able to refuse.

Not trying to rain on any parades, but let's just enjoy this year and be ready for everything the offseason brings, good and bad.
