Well, I agree with you. I was a big Daunte fan, but the team is more important as a whole, and if you have a guy that doesn't want to be on the team, then it doesn't make much sense to keep him.
I never saw Daunte as a "troublemaker" and thought he was pretty well spoken and a classy guy, so I'm not sure what caused the rift between him and Zygi or him and Childress. I think Childress and Zygi probably wanted to keep him here, but it's a two way street, and as soon as Daunte went public, it was pretty much over.
I hope Daunte can recover from his injury and succeed in Miami. Looks like Saban knows what he's doing and should have himself a team that's in the running for a playoff spot.
