I found this article that says the vikings are offering a 2nd rd pick this year plus brad johnson for Schaub. mmm... this is kind of strange; why would a team drafting in the 7th spot make an offer for a qb when they have a very realistic shot at drafting a potential franchise qb in brady Quinn?? this tells me 3 things:
1-The vikings are not particularly impressed with Brady Quinn so far

2-If that trade does happens miami has like a 70% chance of having a chance to draft him if they want to. if the trade does not goes down, it still means the vikings are not that interested in him so is almost the same thing

3-If the browns, bucs, vikings and texans are not consdered very interested in drafting Quinn even when all of them have a real problem with their qbs, what does that tells you?? Is Quinn really that overrated?? why are those teams not considering him that much?? It says alot to me. maybe we should pass on him too and take an impact player, one who can helps us right away. we are not in a postion to gamble on a 1st rd pick

Am I alone here with my deductions??

I'd really like have Brad Johnson and spend the 1st ,2nd, and 3rd on an LT, OC, and OG.

My personal pick for QB is still in school at Hawaii

if this trade does no tgo through, then does that mean the vikings become more likely to draft brady quinn than originally thought?

This tells me that the Vikings wants someone with more experience than Jackson to start the season with.

Some teams are beginning to question Quinn's competiveness after he missed the Senior Bowl (with a mysterious knee injury) and skipped working out (except for the bench press) at the combine.

What makes you think Brady Quinn is the only qb in the draft first round? Are you assuming Jamarcus goes to the raiders?

I think first, in a time that every single team is lying through their teeth, it takes a lot of kutspa to state as fact all those teams you mentioned don't like Quinn.. do you have any facts to back that up... or are you assuming it for the sake of "your" argument? Before we go any further, I think you should prove your contention..or support it somehow, because if you cant put that together then the rest of your contentions don't have much weight. From "here" it just looks like you don't like Quinn for some reason.

What ever helps to get Quinn to the 9th spot, dont worry we have two Qb coaches and a GM who has been known as a good evaluater of QBs. Cam, Shea and Mueller will know what to do. Remember we have Quinn QB coach if any team has an insight on Quinn it is us.

that's a good question. I really don't think so. I expect the vikings to go for a veteran qb like Jeff garcia or jake plummer in free agency and keep jackson (their 2nd rd pick last season) on the bench until they feel he is ready to contribute to the team. I don't think they like Quinn and that's why they are looking at schaub.

Don't forget that Rick Spielman is the Viking's GM now. That idiot LOVES to waste draft picks. Plus he can't evaluate talent for $hit. We might get Quinn because of that fool. HA HA HA.

This tells me that the Vikings are set on making sure they get a QB.

Schaub has played in the NFL and had reps. So the Vikings have had atleast some footage to evaluate this guy to determine if he can make it in the NFL. nO MATTER How enamoured you are with Quinnn or Russel u don't know how they will pan out.

This tells me that they are looking to kill 3 birds with one stone. Get rid of salary cap by dumping Johnson. Get a 1st round QB for a 2nd round price. Schaub has been listed as top 3 QB if he was in this years draft class. And still get their WR in the 1st.

This also shows me that they will most definitely go QB in the 1st if they can't get Schaub.

Things are not as simple as you may think. Brad Childress knows he has a very good D and wants a QB who can come in a light it up. That rarely happens with a rook out of the gate.

Shaub has had some extensive playing time backing up Vick. The other thing that plays a part here is that Shaub plays in the West Coast system in ATL and Childrress runs the West Coast up in Minn. This means they can pickup Shaub and have him possibly play at a high level right from the start. If they can't get Shuab I think they may take a look at Garcia who is a west coast guy as well.

Detroit: they are almost sold on joe thomas. haven't you heard the news? read the newspapers? everyone in detroit is saying they won't draft a qb not just me.

Cleveland: Romeo Crennel and Phil Savage are on the hot seat. they can't affort to take the risk with Quinn. they are looking for a running back. I'm not making this up, I just read the articles. Adrian peterson is the most realistic option

Tampa Bay: They just signed Simms to a contract extension and they already have gradkowsky and rattay. they are looking to draft calvin johnson, there's no secret to that.

Minnesota: They used their 2nd rd pick last season to draft a qb(Tarvaris Jackson) they are looking to trade for schaub of Atlanta. what else can I say?

Houston: The most likely destination for jake plummer. they haven't traded David carr and most likely won't do it. They have bigger needs.

I'll believe it when I see it. Right now its nothing more than a pre-draft smokescreen. I just find it hard to believe that Minnesota would basically admit that Tavaris Jackson was a wasted pick after only a year and give up another second rounder for Schaub.

1-The vikings are not particularly impressed with Brady Quinn so far

I think that is an assumption. They might like Quinn a lot, but would you rather get an experienced QB that knows and runs the West Coast system effectively for a 2nd round pick, or would you go ahead and take Quinn at #7 even though your team has a lot of other needs? Schaub represents the best value.

2-If that trade does happens miami has like a 70% chance of having a chance to draft him if they want to. if the trade does not goes down, it still means the vikings are not that interested in him so is almost the same thing

I think this says more about the Vikings confidence in Tavaris Jackson than it does about there interest in Quinn. If they bring in Schaub, then Childress has acknowledged that Jackson isn't, or may never be, ready for the starting job. If they don't bring in Schaub, then Childress probably thinks Jackson is ready, or at least close to ready to assume the starters job.

3-If the browns, bucs, vikings and texans are not consdered very interested in drafting Quinn even when all of them have a real problem with their qbs, what does that tells you?? If all of these teams pass on Quinn, that simply says to me that they have other options that are more appealing at the moment. Maybe the Browns feel that the winner of the Charlie Frye/Derek Anderson competition will be there best option? Maybe Gruden has so much time invested in Simms and Gradkowski, that he doesn't want to spend another losing season trying to teach ANOTHER QB his complicated system? Maybe the Kubiak has already targeted Plummer for the Texans job? As for the gamble of taking Brady Quinn at #9, no pick is safe. Nothing is a sure thing. I'm just going to trust that Cameron knows a hell of a lot about QBs and he will make an educated pick, whether that is Quinn remains to be seen.

Correctamundo!

Schaub has done less in this league than AJ Feeley had when Spielman made that deal.

6 td's and 6 pics, low QB rating.....doesn't impress me.
