The Vikings also reportedly are interested in Dolphins free-agent linebacker Derrick Pope. Pope's agent declined to comment when reached Monday.
Etc.

I hope we resign him. He filled in nicely and was a ST ACE! Though he doesn't have the size Parcells likes.

oh, I love Pope. I've liked him ever since we drafted him. However, Vikings are my NFC team, so I guess I would be alright with that.

really doesn't fit the LB mold that Parcells likes at all . . . though as someone else pointed out, he is one of our better ST players . . . I mean I figured he would be gone so this isn't suprising.

Pope is nothing more than a backup who got shoved into the starting lineup due to injuries, losing him would not be a big deal, plaus like others have stated, he is not the Parcells type LB.

BP has also said that special teams are very important as well. I would be bummed to see him go, but definatly wouldn't cry myself to sleep...or lose any.

I think Pope has always been a 2nd string player. He never blew anyone away with his play. I dont even see why Crowder is still here.

Pope will be a starter somewhere. He was a very good value for a 7th round pick by the Dolphins. If there is one thing I believe that the new coaching staff and Bill Parcells in particular are wrong about is that they value the physical size of the players that they select more than their production. Players like Z Thomas, Wes Welker and JT ALL PROS would not be drafted by a Bill Parcells. That’s where I believe Bill B of the Pats had the edge on us he looks at the total package.

Size does seem to be more talked about than ability or results.

Have to disagee with ya. I think he did a better job of filling in for Zach than Channing did.

Not surprised by this, I like the guy but he's nothing more than ST fodder at this point. Doesn't fit BP's mold.
