Vikings looking to trade out of #3 according to T&R on CNNSI

we are not the falcons. we are not one wr away from being a playoff team.
go all out for luck b/c of what he can offer for the next decade, anyone else keep the pick trade down if necessary and acquire talent for the future.
 
We need to get RGIII PERIOD! This trade down to get talent crap is stupid that is what we have been doing for years and years... A lot of good saving 2nd and first round picks, it has been ****ty do what other team have done and go get a franchise QB! If we don't do that then get Manning and draft a top lineman then get a free agent lineman to protect him and then lets roll.
 
Trade up and get blackmon and sign flynn. If we don't get Flynn then use that pick for a RGIII. Im so happy free agency is before the draft so we can try to get needs before the draft unlike last year.

Not a bad idea actually, although I think it wouldn't be enough to move up.

Wake is a beast, but a rookie franchise QB is worth far more than an older pro bowl DE.

I also don't think we would get Griffin at #3.

We've traded down once since the year 2000.
 
The Vikings need a LT to keep Ponder upright. I doubt the Vikings actually trade until the Rams pick is announced. If the Ram go with Blackmon; the Vikings will take Matt Khalil

Would he? If Minnesota says they're willing to trade out would it make more sense for a team to trade up to #3, less cost, and grab RG3 knowing St. Louis won't take him at #2.

Granted this would be a draft day trade cause you'd have to wait to make sure no one traded up to #2 but as soon as St. Louis sends the card up with their pick Minnesota's phone is going to be ringing with trade offers. It's a smart move and it prevents teams from negotiating with St. Louis until draft day IMO.
 
And it will likely cost more than two 1's and a 2 as well. No thanks. I wait it out and maybe if Blackmon drops a bit I try and move up for him. Otherwise, I'm staying put.
 
It's no wonder Spileman is shopping the pick. The Vikes need to trade down and gather as many picks as possible as they have just to many holes on both sides of the ball. They have no LT after cutting McKinnie, Hutchinson the LG will probably be cut or retire after being placed on IR the last two seasons (concussion in 2011) and his cap hit being over 7 million. They have no decent starting corners. Antoine Winfield is getting very old, Robbert Griffith isn't panning out, and the kid they drafted, from SC two years ago Chirs Cook, who had promise, beat up his girlfriend and will more than likely be released as he is definitely going to jail. They also need a FS as Hussain Abdulah is terrible. Plus EJ Henderson is probably gonna leave via FA. Add in the fact they need to lock up AP long term and it's no wonder they are looking to gain extra draft picks.
