Vikings | Team could trade No. 7 overall draft pick
Thu, 26 Apr 2007 18:43:43 -0700
Don Seeholzer, of the St. Paul Pioneer Press, reports Minnesota Vikings president of player personnel Rick Spielman said that he has talked to teams that are interested in trading up to acquire the Vikings' No. 7 overall draft pick and one team that is interested in trading down to it. Spielman said, "If anything happens, more than likely it wouldn't happen until draft day, and probably not until we're on the clock."

Interesting!

translation, we don't want Quinn, and the guy we want we don't want to draft at 7.

Spielman has to be the worst poker player ever. You don't come out and say you're looking to trade down. Miami now knows that if Quinn gets to Washington, so Miami now won't trade up, and the only way anybody else trades up is to get Willis before Buffalo (in which case they'll trade with Houston).

Spielman is like a book.

Spielman is like a box of choclates you never know what you gonna get, Eddie Moore.

All dave Wannstedt. Speilman had no power at all when moore was drafted. im not even sure he was within the organization.

The story supposely is Spielman wanted Boldin and Wanny wanted Eddie ****ing Moore

I love that guy (In Minnesota) Maybe we can give him Daunte back and our 7th in an outright trade for the 7th pick. :sidelol:

I still think the most obvious smokescreen so far was Minn. wanting to take Quinn.

God damn Wannsted. Things would be SO differnt if we had taken Boldin over Moore. We would be absolutlely set (and loaded) at WR. Our offense would be so much better and ... ugh, I hate that guy!

As for this topic, I still think we have to move to 6 to get Quinn. The Vikes won't pass on Brady if Landry, Adams and Peterson are gone.

We should tell Rick that we're willing to trade the ninth straight up for the seventh. Tell him that nine is a much luckier number than seven. If he still doesn't bite, we'll tell him it would go a long way in rehabbing his reputation here in Miami.

Unless Minnesota really doesn't want a QB and they really want Ginn Jr./Meachem/Bowe and want to trade down so that they can aquire picks. Maybe pick up a 2nd round QB just in case...

This is totally Speilman realizing no one wants to trade with him and announcing this to overcompensate.

Speilman, give Howie Long his image back.

you are correct and speilman tried to bluff on tv the other day,,clamoring how great brady is and how a team should take a franchise QB if they need one,,,,i would love to play him in poker,,,i'd be rich
