Vikings tell QB Carr they have no interest

The Vikings told the agent for Houston quarterback David Carr, who was waived Friday, that they are not interested in signing him. They plan to enter training camp with Tarvaris Jackson and Brooks Bollinger competing for the starting job. http://www.startribune.com

I'm a Carr fan so I'm hoping that funnels him to us. Here's hoping.

I agree. I don't care who we sign as long as we draft A QB in this draft. QUinn would be nice but we may have to move up to get him.

so quinn has to dodge detroit in my opinion and hes ours. but if oak take c johnson then he is ours. but do you really see det gambling on another first round QB after harrington?

Since when was it a gaurantee that Cleveland wont take a QB? I mean honestly, i don't pretend to have a crystal ball or anything but Quinn to Cleveland would make a lot of sense to me.

carr will end up in oakland......green in miami.......lions take russell........dolphins get quinn......browns and vikings wont take quarterbacks.......browns will take peterson vikings teddy ginn jr.

so you folks think minnesota has no interest in quinn because they have no interest in carr?

I think their statement that "They plan to enter training camp with Tarvaris Jackson and Brooks Bollinger competing for the starting job." Would be a pretty strong indication that they may not be looking at a QB in the draft.

Tarvaris is a young qb and they probably don't really know what he can do yet. It may be a little premature to use another high pick on a qb just yet.

If that's the case, then that's one less team that might not draft Quinn.

I was thinking the same thing.....if Quinn slides past Detroit and Cleveland, I think he will wind up being there when we pick....lotsa IF's though.

smokescreens anybody?? dont believe anything anyone says around this time of the year...also ohiobryan i like ur style im in the boat with you my friend

Even if all eight teams currently picking in front of us don't take Quinn, it's probably safe to assume that most (if not all) of those picks could be had by anybody who's willing to pay the price.

Until Miami is on the clock at #9 and Quinn is still there, I won't believe it. Just because on paper it's been determined that the number of teams currently ahead of us that might take him may be dwindling, doesn't mean those eight are our only competitors for him.

If we want him, it comes down to how much will we give up for him. That dictates how high you can move up. Then if he "falls" to 3, 4, 5, or 6 you better make your move before someone else does.

I hear alot of high hype on Quinn. Im not a college follower so I wanna ask you that are something, Ive heard quinn lacks the arm strength to complete the wide out patterns. Is this a ligitimate concern when evaluating quinn?

There are arguably 3, probably 2 spots that might want him. I still think he goes to Oakland though with a guaranty to not draft a QB #1 overall.

Either way we get a QB (depends on the scenario for the Browns though).
