I heard on sports radio in my area and someone came on and said they saw Titians HC Jeff Fischer wwas waiting for vince Young to get into the game and vince was sitting on the bench with teammates cussing telling him to get out there and he wouldnt go back inot the game then Fischer came over and grabbed vince's headset and told him to get into the game.
I dont know the jest of it but several people have mentioned it:shakeno:

If I'm at Titans fan I would be more concerned by this story from the Tennessean.

Metro Police issued a bulletin for officers to be on the lookout for Titans quarterback Vince Young on Monday night after Coach Jeff Fisher expressed concern about his emotional well being.
According to Metro Police spokesman Don Aaron, Fisher had been alerted after a friend of Young’s contacted the coach around 7 p.m. Monday night. Young eventually made contact with Fisher, and the two met around midnight with Metro police officials at Baptist Sports Park.
“Given the totality of the situation, Coach Fisher was concerned about Young’s emotional well-being. He contacted the police department and expressed to us his concern,’’ Aaron said.

“Once he came to Baptist Sports Park and was assessed, it appeared the concerns from earlier in the night were unfounded.’’

According to police, Young left his home abruptly Monday night and sped off without his cell phone. A person at Young’s home contacted Fisher, who then contacted police.

After Young eventually made contact with Fisher several hours later, he was told he needed to meet with police.

Young had a handgun in the glove compartment of his vehicle, but it was not loaded and Aaron said officers had no concerns about Young trying to harm himself.

“The fact the gun was in the glove compartment and was unloaded did not present an issue for the officers,’’ Aaron said. “There was no ammunition in the car. The gun was unloaded. The slide was back in a safe position, and it was in the glove box.’’

Fisher could not immediately be reached for comment. On Tuesday, the team issued a statement:

“Last night, we received a call from people that are closest to Vince informing us that he had left his house in a state of mind that had them concerned; and that he was unreachable, having left his cell phone at the house. Not having all the facts available to us and approaching the matter prudently, we contacted Metro Police to make them aware of the situation and asked for their assistance in locating Vince. He was located at a friend’s house, where we made contact with him. He then came to the practice facility where it was determined that those initial concerns by his friends and family were unfounded and he returned home without incident.”

Young suffered a left knee injury in the team’s 17-10 win over the Jaguars on Sunday. He was scheduled to undergo an MRI on the knee on Monday, but the MRI had to be rescheduled.

Young has proven to be an emotional player since being drafted by the Titans in the 2006 NFL Draft. Police took Monday’s episode seriously, Aaron said. After meeting with Fisher and police, Young was given permission to go home on his own.

“In a major city police department we have calls like this all the time about people who fear for their loved ones and want the police department to find them and check on their welfare, the difference here being Vince Young’s notoriety,’’ Aaron said.

“When the police department gets such calls you have to take them seriously. Every person is different and you never know how these issues will ultimately turn out. The concerns of last night appear to be unfounded.’’

Young is just one of those players that things were going so good for him BEFORE he came into the NFL, that when things go wrong, he can't take it easily. He definitely had trouble taking boos from the home crowd after his 2nd interception.

pretty much it. Vince was a god in Texas WHILE IN HIGH SCHOOL. He's adored in that state, and as most of you know had his jersey retired in College (probably HS as well). Now that he's in the NFL and can't rely on his athleticism but more so on reading defenses, he struggles. Unless the Titan fans are also Longhorn fans, they don't care what VInce did 3-4 years ago. They don't care that he single handedly won 2 Rose Bowls for Texas (one netting the school the National Championship). Doesn't help that the Titans went on a winning streak during his rookie year and last year so he got hyped up as the second coming (of course, he was only a small part of that winning as the Titans had/have a great running game, and a very opportunistic defense).

You left out the part about his mommy coming out in the media and scolding everyone for talking bad about her baby. Jeff Fischer has a big problem on his hands. If this guy is thin skinned he throws tantrums when criticized and such a mama's boy that she adresses the media on his behalf. He will not be able to lead guys in a huddle. He need to get out there publically. stand up like a man. Nip this thing in the bud.

QB's Mom: 'He's Hurting Inside and Out'

The mother of Titans quarterback Vince Young said he's "hurting inside and out" and indicated he doesn't want to play football.

Felicia Young said in Wednesday editions of The Tennessean that her son is tired of all the negativity he's faced after being booed during a 17-10 win Sunday over Jacksonville. On Monday, Titans coach Jeff Fisher called police to help find him.

"What would you think, if you were tired of being ridiculed and persecuted and talked about and not being treated very well, what would you do? What kind of decision would you make?" Felicia Young said "He may not want to deal with it (all), but you have to get to that point before you make that decision first.

"But we're not talking about football right now. We're talking about what would make him happy, and that is the most important thing."

Coach killer. Norm Chow knew it right away too.

Fisher is in a tough spot. And like I said in the other thread, the rest of this team is good enough to compete for a title. Great, tough, physical defense that just plain beats people up. I hope we play some teams after they play the Titans the week before.

Their OL is a bunch of tough bullies too. All they need is a good QB.

Vince Young dosent help them win at all, in fact he is a detriment to that team. Now he is causing off field distractions for the team by acting like a ****ing baby. Good grief.

Coach killer---a.k.a A completely overhyped QB with alot of athletic talent who just cant play QB in the NFL, but the organization sinks too much money and invests way too much steak into them as a franchise guy. Vick and Young.

LOL I was sitting here reading your post and thinking about how well he would fit in Atlanta and then read how you compared him to Vick. Too funny.

I think Young has alot of talent but as you said I dont think he has the attitude/mental toughness to be an NFL QB. I think Young could do with the season off, put him on IR and make him do some serious work with his counsellor (if he has one).

I do think thats what the Titans nedd to do because if he continues at the rate he is going he will be cut within two seasons. At least this way they are trying to do something about his fragile mental nature.

The strange thing is, people who are usually lacking in mental strenght dont get this far in football. The fact Young did very well at college and his first season in the NFL means he still can be a very good QB IMO.

As was pointed out earlier, Young has never really faced a situation he couldn't play himself out of by purely being the best athlete on the field. Now that he does, he's cracking.

I think another thing to point out is that Vince is not smart. Yeah he got a very low Wonderlic score, but you could tell before that. Mack Brown has a very good offensive system, but Young really struggled with it both as a Freshmen and most of his sophomore season (when Brown decided he was just gonna have only one read for Young). Compare the Texas offense that Chris Simms/Major Applewhite had and Colt McCoy currently has with what Vince had.

As I said early in the offseason, if Norm Chow can't make you look good, nobody can.

Toss in sloppy mechanics and you've got soup!

I'm a UT and UNC fan...So, I know all about Mac Brown and his strengths and weaknesses. He struck gold on a college level with Young, no question, and, Young DID carry that UT team. Just can't do it now when the odds are even.

never said he didn't. I was just pointing out he struggled trying to run Mac's normal offense. I remember catching a handful of games Vince's sophomore year when they ran the offense they run for Colt now. Vince looked awful in that system. When they changed it to a one read and run, he became a world beater.

to make matters worse for VY, his therapist came out and said he was deeply concerned for Vince because he mentioned committing suicide. Depression sucks, and I feel for the guy, but he couldn't have really thought it would all be that easy... could he?

It sucks to be him, huh? Making more money in one year than I'll probably never make in a lifetime. Sorry if I'm coming across as jaded but for that kind of money you could spit on me and tell me horrible things about my mother(just kidding, I'll kill you!). Kinda reminds me of a guy named Ricky!

eh kind of but not really. Ricky had/has social anxiety and combination of the pressure of being the franchise of Miami and the embarassment that the world would know he was a pot smoker got to him. Vince just came in with a huge ego and now he can't deal with adversity.
