Vincent Jackson

I'm a huge VJax fan, and he would give our offense something we don't have, but we can't afford him.

The only reason I even entertain the possibility of this is that Hickey came from Tampa, and may have had something to do with bringing him in there. He really is an outstanding player, but we just don't have the cap room.
 
If they would go for what you put out there - YES!

Probably would take more though....

Jackson is EXACTLY what this offense needs - and I mean that.

I wanted Deshawn Jackson and I wanted Steve Smith who went to the Ravens.

Guys who are tough and can stretch the field mean SO much...but the coaching staff is too stiff to do it...
 
Sounds like the only reason TB is shopping him is to save a chunk of change towards the cap. They would save about $5 million per year towards the cap if they swapped for Hartline, but then they'd be obligated to him for one more contract year beyond Jackson's last year which is 2016. I doubt they would find that appealing, and I doubt they would think Gibson would be compensation enough.
 
Like JD said the problem is his contract. Essentially makes it impossible.
 
If there was ever a time I was really hoping for Aponte to work some contractual magic .... now is that time.
 
We currently spend more money than any other NFL team on the WR position. Can you imagine if we were actually lining up a guy like VJax instead of Hartline with that money? :lol:

Would be nice, but I would be all in to unload Hartline and Gibson and a pick for VJax. They may not be tied to Hartline or Gibson for long, didnt we sign them front loaded contracts which allows us to cut them after first few years? I remember reading that somewhere...either way, would be really awesome if it happened.

Wallace, VJax, Landry & Mathews (throw in Clay) would be very decent.

Wallace, Landry, and Jackson would be a top 3 WR unit and Jackson is the perfect fit on the other side of Wallace. He'd also give us a big red zone threat that we don't really have with our current TEs. Just don't have the money, though.
 
nah no expensive trades for a big contract for the deepest position on the team.
 
Wait a sec, Jackson's contract is NOT guaranteed the next two seasons?

I hope we're one of the teams calling about him.
