Have you ever visited an opposing teams' stadium?

Unfortunately, I never had the opportunity to do so, but I'm hoping to catch the game at Pittsburgh in 2007.

My friend (huge Chiefs fan) is attempting to go into the Black Hole this coming year. :sidelol:

So, have you ever been in a visiting stadium, and what was your experience in that particular stadium?

I've been to Oakland and the Panthers stadium. Besides the heckling at both stadiums before the game in the parking lot and losing the Raiders game, I had a good time.

I have been to: Cleveland, Cinncy, Atlanta, and Indy...all have there strong points and weak ones......Cinncys stadium was the nicest IMO.

I've been to Buffalo, Meadowlands, Miami, Sd and KC. Loved them all!

Took the most abuse in Buffalo and at the Meadowlands, as expected. Fin fans were great...it must be the sun! :D

I've ONLY been to Giants stadium, and that was it.

I have no interest in seeing the Dolphins live. I much rather sit in the comfort of my home and watch on the TV where you see everything clearly.

Unfortunately I havn't yet but I'm hoping to pull a road trip either this upcoming season to either Cleveland, New England or Buffalo. If not, 2007 brings either Baltimore, New England or Buffalo aside from the easy Jets @ Giants "trip".

Once you go to a handful of games, you'll realise you miss almost the whole game, never mind 'seeing everything clearly'. You see what they show you, and thats about 15% of the game at most.

On TV, you follow the ball, with a lot of closeups on the QB. Watch from the stands, and you see the plays develop thats if you're high enough). My seats are in the nosebleeds...I can see it all! :D

My favorite example of the difference is from last year. When the local media questioned Matt Light about how he dealt with having to watch the games from a new perspective (watching on tv while injured), he said "Hell, now I know why you guys (the media) know nothing about the game! You can't see anything from the camera angles!"

It's so true. I can't begin to enjoy game as much as when I attend it. I don't leave my seat once I get there. i don't miss a snap. I do tape every game so I can review it, since too many times the replays are not shown in the stadium. That does suck.

I'v only been to Seattle games, but I'd do about anything to go to any other stadium. I'd wear my dolphins gear no matter who is playing. Last year I went to the Atl vs Sea game in Dolphin attire

Jets Stadium, and it sucks when you wearing a Dolphins jersey but I'm proud and brave.

Meadowlands (duh)
Foxboro (2001)
Pro Player (last 5 years)

Wanted to try and get out to Packers this year, but doesn't look like it is going to happen.

Please. My wife has gone to every Jets/Dolphins game in the last 6 years and has never had a problem.

I've been to a bunch and road games are more fun than home games(well when the jets win and they only lost once in road games I've been to). It's fun being the "enemy". Road games I've been to:

1998 at Miami: The Sunday Nighter which broke a tie for the div lead and clinched our first playoff berth since 1991. The Stadium was filled w/ Jet fans, I would say at least 40% so I never felt uncomfortable there. I heard there were alot of fights that night but not near me. It was a great atmosphere and a great game and it was great to see the dolphin fans clearing out after the Jets went up 21-10 w/ under 2 mins left.

1998 at Buffalo: 6 days later we went up to Buffalo to watch the Jets win their 1st AFC East Title. What a difference a few days made, when we pulled into the parking lot we found about 40 or so Jet fans tailgating and we tailgated w/ them but once inside there were no Jet fans around and no security. We got hassled a bit(in fun) until the Bills fan in front of me and behind me got into a fight and I had to break it up then they spewed their venom ont he guy in front of me.

2000 at New England: this was pre NE becoming great and the pre the Red Sox winning it. The fans in the stands did not care about the game for 1 second. All they did was get drunk and chant towards the NY fans. It was quite a pathetic display but we killed them and that made it worth it.

2001: at New Orleans. By far the most fun outside the game that I had but the game itself was great(it was the Kyle Turley helmet throwing game). The problem was Game 7 of the WS was on at the same time. I bought the tix before 9/11 and obviosuly the WS was supposed to be over a week prior. I had a handheld TV but only the beginning of the game and very end came in so I spent the whole night watching the scoreboard but luckily they updated constantly but just as The D-Backs won John Hall missed a chip shot Fg that would have basically sealed it so I thought that was a bad sign but Turley helped us out w/ his boneheaded play and we won 16-9.

2003 at Washington: This was the least fun b/c it was the only loss but the fans were so classless and acted like they wont he SB after they barely beat us. I was also disappointed w/ the Stadium as it was pretty new but it's a terrible Stadium. They pack you in like sardines and we sat in the upper deck but inlike Joe Robbie or the meadowlands where you can see well from any seat even in the uppers the seats at FedEx were so far away you could barely see the game.

I look forward to more road games but we have a young Son now so we haven't been able to get away in recent years.

Well maybe your wife doesn't cheer as much as I do. Don't tell me my experiences at the Meadowlands, i'll do that. It also could be the section she sits in. I sit a couple rows back from Fireman Ed, so maybe that has something to do with it.

Also the fact that she may be a regular at the Meadowlands, I'm not.

I have been to many hostile opposing Stadiums/Arenas and I always cheer for my team and I have never been seriously harrassed.

The 1st rule for any opposing fan is make friends as soon as you get there. Get in a little early so the Stadium is kind of empty and strike up conversation. The next rule is don't be obnoxious when rooting for your team, cheer all you want but don't rub it in the home team's fans faces. Do those 2 things and the likelihood of any confrontation is minimal.

I've been to home games for the following teams:

Dolphins, Jets, Giants, Saints (home game at the Meadowlands  ), Bills, Redskins.
