Jim Reid left his job as VMI football coach Wednesday to join the staff of the Miami Dolphins.

Reid, 57, has been VMI's head coach for two seasons (2-9 in 2006, 1-10 in 2007), and also was the University of Richmond's head coach 1995-2003. Reid led the Spiders to a pair of Atlantic 10 Conference titles and two appearances in the Division I-AA playoffs.

With the Dolphins, Reid will work under new defensive coordinator Paul Pasqualoni. Pasqualoni was Syracuse's head coach in 2004, when Reid ran that program's defense. The Dolphins new head coach is Tony Sparano.

What part of staff is he Nubs? You always break the news on here lol. Great to have you back.

Wow, must be one hell of a personality because the record isnt real impressive. Guess we'll have to see what he brings to the table. Gotta be something to him to make someone offer him a job in the show. Anyone have any idea where he's coached before and what they thought of him.

hmm Im not liking the coaching SQUADS were setting up 100 chiefs..

Why do we need co captians , co head coaches and all that sounds like the good old boys payback time..

I like the staff but are we getting to many cooks in the kitchen?

I agree, always wonder why Saban wanted every position to have an asst coach and that asst. coach has an asst. coach. Don't like this because it creates communication problems. I understand Dorrell and Henning if he comes on board to show him the ropes due to his age, but I hope it kind of stops there and doesn't carry over to to all asst. coaches.

Sounds to me he'll just play a "jack of all trades" kind of defensive assistant, not "co-defensive coordinators." It's more of the "trust" factor playing out again because he worked with Pasqualoni. If Paz thought he'd rock the boat he'd bring in someone else.

It doesn't say that anywhere. The second poster must have misread. :)

They're just hiring coaches at this point. Reid doesn't have a position yet.

Is there going to be enough room on the sideline and in the booth for all these coaches ? Good thing there's not a coaches roster limit, we'd have some serious cut-downs come June!
