Volin: Dolphins front office growing concerned about Ross' meddling

The "source" that keeps talking to the media better be more concerned if he/she is found out than with Ross' meddling.

An e-mail from Ross posted to Volin twitter account a few minutes ago.

Ross: "They have kept me fully informed about their draft analysis, and they have my full support and backing whoever they decide to pick."

Time will tell if Ross is truely meddling or if this is just another pre-draft bs by the media.

Meddling or not...I like his reponse to Florio

While Ross has requested the Dolphins find a quarterback this offseason, sources say he hasn’t put ANY demands on coach Joe Philbin or General Manager Jeff Ireland.

Ross did not respond to the Sun-Sentinel on Monday, but he did go right to the source of the initial report, emailing Florio directly.

“So there’s no confusion, Jeff Ireland will make the call who we draft, with input from Coach Philbin and the football staff,” Ross wrote Florio. “They’re the ones who have spent months reviewing tape, scouting, and gathering information from every source available to them. They have kept me fully informed about their draft analysis, and they have my full support and backing, whoever they decide to pick. I know they will select the players they think can best help this football team win.”

Ross will be in the draft room like he has in past years, but it will be as a fly on the wall.

Unlike most fans and media members, Ross knows the team’s game plan going into the draft, and he’s able to assess and evaluate the outcome that way.

this story was dead yesterday. Ireland shot this down this morning as well. i dont buy this story. Ross meddles, Peterson was our new VP of football operations, Flynn was set to be a dolphin etc. these fools know nothing.

It's frustrating not getting results and quickly, we all know that, but Ross trying to patch a Super Bowl winner together out of retreads and NFL junkyard players is just embarrassing.

You are blaming that on the wrong guy. ireland is the one bringing in all the retreads and rejects.

I for one hope Ross tells him "Either you draft a QB in the first round, or your replacement will".

Still, I find it hard to believe that editors allow flagrant journalistic abuses under their watch every day to allow journalists to make up sources at their own discretion. I think there is a "source" but who knows what role they have. Could be the janitor...
