I was thinking with Kevin Carter gone and I know we still have Matt Roth who played his best season last year. Do you think there will be situations where Vonnie playes DE opposite JT. I'm thinking of an offense trying to shut down JT VH and a blitzing JP. I would not want to be a TE that suppose to choose who to block.

i think he played end last year when traylor was in at NT? correct me if i'm wrong

yea, Vonnie is a 3-4 DE, who possibly could play DE in the 4-3 but was EFFECTIVE big time as a 4-3 DT alongside Traylor. Vonnie had a big year last year.

Yeah, like everyone else said Vonnie plays end in 3-4 sets and in 4-3 he's DT. He'll also play end if someone needs spelling in the 4-3.

He's basically already a defensive end, even in a 4-3 in terms of positioning and responsibility. It's just they have someone in the 3-point stance next to him, making him a DT in really name only.

Having him play opposite of Taylor wont make him more disruptive, either. If anything, it'll have the opposite effect. Right now, he's penetrating upfield and taking advantage of the blocking scheme trying to get a guy(or two) wide enough to block Taylor, which is leaving less athletic linemen trying to extend and block him as well.

It was his only year.

And he didn't get selected to the Pro Bowl. 'Tis a shame.

He was overshadowed by our two habitual pro bowlers on defense.

To name 3 players from a last place 6-10 team to a Pro Bowl in the same year would be a stretch.
