"Dolphins rookie LCB Vontae Davis was burned more than any other AFC East corner back in 2009.

Among AFC East CBs who faced at least 50 passes, Davis allowed 46 catches on 76 tries, which comes out to a 60.5 percent success rate for the offense. That percentage ranked 61st - worst in the AFC East. All-Pro Jets CB Darrelle Revis allowed 40 receptions on 108 targets, the best percentage (37.0) in the division. "

I like Vontae Davis a lot, but you gotta admit that statistic kinda sucks.
 
I think he just has to work on his technique and awareness. I noticed usually when he gives up a big play it was because he fell down or he didn't turn his head around to track the ball. I only saw him actually get burned 2 or 3 times.

I like Vontae a lot, but you gotta understand that he's a rookie and this statistic isn't really a fair overview of his production.

Vontae will be fine.

you go cover moss twice, to twice, and braylon twice; then get at me.
 
Well, complete the infromation. Tell us about Sean Smith. Tell us about Will Allen. Tell us about Wilson.
 
Those are stats I would expect from a rookie corner with safeties that can't cover behind him, and no pass rush in front of him.

I have never seen worse safety play (coverage) in my life. Could he have been better? Sure, but how many times did you see him get help over the top?
 
It's really sad. #1 pick worst corner in the league. And then when people suggest that he maybe should try safety, people laugh.
 
Yo wtf I just posted what it said on Rotoworld. I think he will be a great corner. I know hes a rookie, but you cant tell me those numbers are good. Don't lie to yourself, he needs work. And for the dude who told me to cover Moss and Braylon, this is compared to EVERY CB in the AFC East. The Bills and Jets had to cover Moss too. And out of ALL of the cornerbacks, Vontae had the WORST percentage. Its a fact, its not an opininon. I love the dude, i might buy his jersey. But that doesn't change the statistic.

you have no idea what you're talking about. all you are doing is looking at the stats. have you watched a single game this season??

Davis gave up 6 touch downs plus he averaged 17.3 yards per reception for a total of 835 yards allowed
I don't know your definition of "burned" is but make no mistake Davis gave up big plays all year long

Like I said, most of the time I saw him give up big plays was him falling down or not getting his head around fast enough. I meant burned as in what Moss did to him.
