Illinois cornerback Vontae Davis decided to extend his stay in South Florida this week by following up his private workout with the Miami Dolphins by taking in some tennis at the Sony Ericsson Open on Saturday afternoon.

Davis and older brother Vernon Davis, a tight end for the San Francisco 49ers, were guests of Serena and Venus Williams, who were both on Stadium Court at the Crandon Park Tennis Center. Both brothers expressed a strong desire to play for the Dolphins.

"I like the coaching staff and who could ask for a better place to play than Miami,'' said Vontae Davis, a 5-foot-11, 203-pounder, who is known for his ferocious tackling skills. "I liked the coaching staff.''

Its crazy how genes flow through families and that athletic ability is often something that is merely encripted in people genes from the second they are born.

Vontae Davis is not known for having very good character and is NOT a hard worker. I wouldn't want him

While people could change their ways...I kinda agree with you. He may have the same genes but he also has the same character problems as his older brother.

If this kid is still available at 25 . . . I can truly see him being the pick. He is more physical than Smith and Butler and has better speed and is a better tackler. The most complete CB in this draft. Yea Butler is the better man CB, but Davis is better in other areas. 6 feet, 200 pounder . . . he is physical enough . . . man if Jason Allen were to work out . . . a Davis/Allen CB combo would be just physical as hell.

Add to that Bell and Wilson :crutch:

you do know who we have as a HC right? you're also aware that we have Joey Porter as our WOLB and his ego&mouth right? now if Porter pretty much bows down to Sparano&his staff and the rest of the team follows suit and buys into what Coach Sparano&Co. are teaching,preaching,&building...don't you think that Vontae Davis would do the same if he were to fall to our pick and we grab him? not that he'd fall to us,but if he did,and we grab him,i'm pretty sure Porter&the rest of the players would make sure that Vontae fell right in line and do his part as a TEAM player...

he is good in run support but i would rather have alphonso smith

As good as he is in coverage . . . when you have Moss and T.O. in the same division as you play in . . . . u need atleast one of your starting CB's to be atleast 5'10".
