he just doesnt sound intelligent to me at all.. am i wrong?
 
Who cares how intelligent he is. He doesn't have to be "booksmart" to be a good football player, geeze. I'm sure Vontae is plenty smart when it comes to things like.... oh say... playing cornerback.

Also though, he really does need to get in shape and play like we all expect him to

Fortunately, you don't have to be intelligent to be a successful football player. To be honest, it's probably the relative lack of intelligence in the profession that saddles teams with head coaches like Mike Tice and Tony Sparano.
 
They're atheletes, actually high IQ players don't always make it or last very long plenty of the time.

Remember the guy who was drafted a year ago who was a Rhodes scholar?

The rap on him was that football wasn't important enough to him. In hindsight it probably wasn't...

His interview was pretty much exactly what I expected based on what I've seen of him since he's been here. It was pretty funny. he had a Sarah palin moment in there when they asked him what he was reading.

He reminds me of Eddie Murphy in Trading Places. If it wasn't for the NFL where would Vontae be right now? :ponder:
 
I felt sorry for the Brown kid. All they showed was him getting his butt handed to him.
And the guard who was released just before camp started.

Chad came over as a knocklehead. Walking into the coaches meeting and always playing.
I get the feeling if he does not stop the sillyness he wont be here long. Especially the repeated use of the F word at press conference.
 
I'm just not sure the gravity of the situation has hit Vontae yet, and I'm concerned that he won't grasp it in time. Maturing as a player is as mental as it is physical. The reading gaff when he couldn't list off a book title made me smack my forehead. Few bought that, IMO - unless he's just embarrassed about his reading selection - maybe it's Goosebumps or something.
