I'm not sure the starting OLB is on the team yet.

What other options do we have left man.

I think that Brooks was our last options, but we choose not to go that way.

I think that Spragan and Newman will do fine atleast for a year as our SLB and next year is when we should fine our SLB guy in free agency or either the draft.

I agree. Spragan will probably be the starter and Newman will be used as a situational pass rusher. That will get us through the year just fine, but won't last in the long run if we really want to make our front 7 one of the most feared groups in the NFL.

Donnie Spragan should start. He already has valuable playing time with Zach and Crowder, so I give him the edge. Besides he has good size and did important plays last year for the Dolphins.

Well, like I said "I'm not sure" we have our starting OLB yet. I think Saban would be willing to trade or possibly we get lucky and someone is released. I'm just saying we have a long way till the season starts and we could still be in the hunt for an OLB. I don't think Saban passed on Brooks because LB wasn't a need for us. I think he passed on Brooks because his down side was too big. Clearly Brooks had the talent to go higher, but Saban does his homework and I think there was more to the Brooks story then we know. I think we could get lucky and sign someone that's released. If not, then I'll make my predicition on who starts at OLB. All we need is someone to step in for the season, till Saban gets a chance to shore up the LB situation next year. One thing is for sure, we will be in the hunt for LB's next year and I can't frikin wait.

well as of now i think it should be spragan because he's already been in the system a year and dom capers gave him some praise a couple weeks ago.

I think thet Bills fans has said that Jeff Posey might not make the team because they have Angelo Crowell who really steped it up last year and could take his place. I would love if we could land a guy like him.

I don't think that we do a trade because we need to keep our picks and I don't know which player we could trade in return for a good LB.

But I think as of right now, the only LB that we could be adding would be Berryman who entered the supp draft and didn't get picked. The 49ers seems to be getting ready to sign Dixon and the only option left of those young LB's is Berryman.

yea i remember that how capers has been praising spragan to.

I don't believe there will be a significant acquisition at the spot. I think when we couldn't get some of the people we wanted thats when we went ahead and grabbed Keith Newman and packed it in.

Capers supposedly reviewed tape of 2005, came away impressed with Donnie Spragan. We know Spragan's smart, we know he's big. He can play. He played well during the final 8 games of 2005. When we need a little better pass rush over there, that's what we grabbed Keith Newman for...that's his specialty. When we run across situations where we need a LB that is a coverage specialist, that's when we'll bring in Sedrick Hodge...that is the reason he was brought in, Saban said that himself in a press conference.

Other than grabbing a guy that could fill the 7th LB spot and maybe play special teams (ehem, Berryman) then I think we're done at LB.

I think Spragan. Newman would be a maybe but I don't know. He was a lot better during his early years in barfalo.

i think keith newman could b a sleeper to win the starting OLB position, he was one of the best deffensive players on the vikings last year so im hoping his good season will carry over with the dolphins

And Posey got his start with Capers, playing well enough for the Texans for the Bills to sign him away.
