1.Ron Brace
-If Raji wasn't also playing DT on this team, we'd all be raving about Brace. He may end up being the better value pick for being essentially the same type of player. Not quite as nasty or athletic as Raji. Can do a lot of everything well, and will be an instant rotational contributor at the next level. Very nice size and good motor. Gets penetration and must be accounted for. Has begun to finish his pass rush better. Elite run stuffing, 2-gap candidate
Weaknesses
Still lacks that go-for-the-throat intensity. Content to let Raji take the lead. A bit straight-linish and one dimensional. Should do more with his God-given ability than he does. Needs to use his full arsenal of moves in each game and with more variety. Heavy-footed and slow. If he is beaten by first contact, it is usually over.
2-Duke Robinson-
Offensive Guard
Oklahoma
Ht: 6’ 5" Wt: 335 lbs.OG
Strengths: Size, Strength, Initial Quickness, Demeanor
Weaknesses: Size, Adjustments, Quickness in Space
Comments:O.K yes "THE FRONT OFFICE"is taking Brace a little early
but drafting a NT this season mean you can take care of
a position of need a year early.
Duke could compete with Thomas and Smiley both coming off injury's
last season.Give the FINS a lot of Depth in the middle of the line.
2.Lawrence Sidbury Jr., OLB/DE Richmond
Analysis
Positives: Solidly built athlete with room for additional mass, especially in his upper body. ... Long arms. ... Flashes initial quickness off the snap to pressure the outside. ... Good lateral quickness to redirect back to the inside if he senses the tackle leaning outside. ... Good spin and reverse spin move to clear the offensive tackle quickly. ... Good hand placement and use of leverage to bull rush the tackle into the pocket. ... Can close quickly with an open lane. ... Good effort in pursuit. ... Can break down in space to make the clean open-field tackle. ... Flashes some explosiveness as a hitter. ... Helped himself with a solid week of practice at the East-West Shrine Game.
Negatives: Lacks the height and bulk in his lower body most teams prefer in a defensive end. ... Marginal strength at the point of attack and can be targeted in the running game. ... Likes to run around blocks in space, rather than take them on and discard. ... Lacks explosiveness off the snap and is often late. ... Enjoyed much of his success while rushing from the left defensive end position and going against the right tackle. ... Inconsistent. ... Tends to make plays in bunches and then disappear for long stretches.
3.Keenan Lewis Oregon St. 6-07/8 208 4.53
Strengths
Physical corner with good size and arm length. Experienced and can contribute day one to an NFL team in a nickel/dime role. Good character. Good turn into a shut down type. Size makes him coveted.
Weaknesses
Can get twisted by the double move and quick WRs. Needs to get in and out of his cuts quicker. Not a blazer. Lacks the real makeup speed needed to get back into the play if he guesses wrong
4.Don Carey CB
Norfolk St. 5"11 192 4.5
Small-school CB visiting 49ers...Carey already has visited with the Miami Dolphins, and the Steelers, Seahawks and 49ers also are on his dance card. The 49ers lost one cornerback, Donald Strickland, in free agency, and another, Reggie Smith, was playing safety at the minicamp held last month. The team also considered adding free agents Eric Green and Karl Paymah, but both signed elsewhere. Carey stands 5-11 and weighs 192 pounds. He ran a 4.49 at the combine and had 18 reps of 225 pounds - a solid number for a defensive back. The big question about Carey, of course, is the level of competition he faced at Norfolk State
Comment:If the CB position is one of deepest position than what is the different between Sean Smith,Butler ,Don Carey, and Keenan Lewis .Sidbury Jr can learn behind Porter
or compete vs Wake and Roth ,but this kid has the speed ,size but need to learn the position.
5.Aaron Kelly Height: 6-41/2 | Weight: 204 | 40-Time: 4.55
Strengths:
A smooth athlete...Excellent height...Long arms...Outstanding leaping ability...Fantastic ball skills and body control...Reliable hands...Some elusiveness...Knows how to use his frame...Experienced...Productive.
Weaknesses:
Too thin...Doesn't have great speed or quickness...Isn't explosive and lacks a burst...Wasn't a vertical threat...Won't get much separation...Is not very strong...Must be more tough and physical...Marginal blocker.
6. Robert Brewster -Ball St.
Height: 6-41/8 | Weight: 325 | 40-Time: 5.24
Overview
Despite being a four-year starter and two-time first-team All-MAC recipient at left tackle, Brewster ranks as one of the more underrated components in Ball State's emergence into the national spotlight. He won't be underrated by scouts. Brewster's lateral agility makes him not only effective mirroring defenders in pass protection, but when blocking for the run. As with many tackles coming to the NFL as products of the spread offense, however, scouts are curious to see how effective Brewster would be in the running game out of a three-point stance. Had an arm span of 34 inches and a hand span of 9 1/4 inches at the co
7.S/CB: D.J. Clark, Idaho St:
Great size and speed for a CB, is expected to perform very well at his pro day, might be asked to make the move to safety.
2008 Stats: 58tkls; 1tfl; 8pbu; 5int; 2fr; 1ff
Projected Measurables: 6'1" 200; 4.45
Weakness:stiffness in hips ,and unknown vs better competition
7.Brannan Southerland
Height: 6-0 | Weight: 242 | 40-Time: 4.68
Analysis
Positives: Solid build for the position. Experienced fullback with the athleticism to contribute as a blocker, runner and receiver. At his best blocking on the move. Locates his target and can break down in space to hit him squarely. Keeps his legs churning and maintains good contact with his target. Hits the hole quickly as a runner and has flashed the leg drive for short-yardage success. Earned the Leon Farmer Award for his dedication to the UGA strength and conditioning program and was named a team captain in 2008 despite only appearing in eight games.
Negatives: Flashed impressive leg drive and toughness as a runner early in his career, but has become less of a factor in the running game each of the past three seasons - dropping in touchdowns from eight (2006) to five (2007) to one (on only two total rushing attempts) in 2008. Only marginal hands out of the backfield. Not a natural receiver. Marginal initial pop as a lead blocker. Relies on agility and technique to clear lanes, rather than pure power or aggression. Didn't appear to be the same player this season after missing the first half of the year with a fractured foot. Surgically repaired navicular bone in his left foot requires a Combine check.
Comments:FB,WR,OT and a CB/S check, whats missing is ILB but you can not
solve every problem all in year and a half.
