Waddle appreciation thread

So funny you posted this…

I just came on to clarify one of my posts from a little while ago talking about Hill for OPOY. And listing Henry, Chubb, Mahomes and Hurts as his competitors.

Literally just came on to add the Penguin to that list.

He’s capable of sick stats too and he’s got twice the TDs as the Cheetah.

Not enough Waddle threads so here’s an appreciation thread.

And waddles theme song.

I love the creative play calling of McDaniel. All too often in the past the offense was too predictable. Not this year (although he does seem to go long on 3rd downs). My only complaint is not going for field goals on a few 4th downs that obviously (to me) called for the 3 pts.

My one knock on Waddle is he had a good chance at that last ball Tua threw. Yes! Tua should have put up a better ball. But Waddle lost focus and could have grab that ball in putting the game away.
But besides that he’s been spectacular

And him jumping early or jumping when not necessary. That pass interference call in fourth quarter, he didn’t needed to jump. If he just kept on running, I think he would have caught the ball. The commentators mentioned it also that he didn’t needed to jump.

That’s what lack of confidence in your kicker has as a consequence.

I don't think the calls are necessarily go long on 3rd down. I think they always have a deep route on those plays and Tua just goes for the money. It makes sense if you think about it though, on 3rd down most teams are playing for the sticks and deep passes are typically low percentage throws. Tua is just taking the shot for a big play that defense is giving him.

I love Waddle and think he will be a top 5 WR year in and year out. The knock to me really isn't focus, it is stop trying to use your damn body to catch on some passes. The pass wasn't great but Hill would have slowed and high pointed that ball making it almost impossible for the DB to make a play. Waddle waited on the ball to come.to his body and I believe the DB just got a slight finger on the ball.

The other one was the deep pass that he did get pass interface. He slowed up and jumped up to try and catch it with his body. The ball was perfect all had to do was keep running and snag it and TD. I will say that he may have lost that ball in the sun though.

Based on that video, this might just be a Tua Appreciation thread. Great fake and a laser throw.

I think he'll improve that part of his game. Waddle is super athletic, if you ever watched him play basketball you know he has the skillset to do all the things he needs to be a great receiver. I think his superior athletic ability never forced him to refine these parts of his game, so he just needs to work at it. That TD to win the Ravens game shows that he has the ability to high point and snag passes with his hands.

I think he will. I think more a mental thing as well, use to it. But he has the physical skills and hands to go snag ball as we have seen him do it. He has to just keep reminding himself this is the NFL attack the ball DBs at this level make up ground in a hurry.

I actually thought that Waddle would lead the team in receptions but not in YPC.....over 17 YPC is awesome
Everyone is really coming into their own and/or find different ways to contribute under this offensive scheme and its been awesome to see. I know I have said it before as have tons on FH, but I have not been as excited by this Dolphins offense this century.
