Waddle

I couldnt even imagine our offense without him this year.

yuck

IMO you can see the difference ONE playmaker can make over ONE offensive lineman.

Having Sewell or Slater would have been really nice, but one of those players doesn’t fix this offensive line. They’d still be subpar as a group.

While our receiver core is by no means great as a unit, Waddle’s abilities are helping to mask one of the worst rushing attacks and a line ranking near the bottom in pass blocking win rate.

That‘s not easy to do.

Defenses know that Tua is looking for Waddle — but they are still having difficulty covering him.

As pointed out by the MNF crew, the Dolphins coaches are doing a great job scheming him open. Something a team like Seattle hasn’t done so well for DK Metcalf this season.

And Waddle’s speed, quickness, elusiveness and ability to identify holes in the defense just makes it even harder for defenses.

If/when defenses really double and triple down on him, it should make life easy for Parker and Gesicki.

Also, I know Waddle isn’t getting the same recognition and media/fan attention as Jamar Chase or Micah Parsons, but considering the talent around him — notably the bottom tier o-line play — what’s he’s doing is even more impressive IMO.

Chase benefits from a QB with more time throw and also other very good receivers to draw away attention, as well as big RB that has amassed nearly 1200 yards and 16 total TD’s this season.

Parsons has been phenomenal as well, but, again, also has a fair amount of talent around him drawing away attention. Look at the season Diggs is having for that Cowboys defense too.

Take nothing away from those players, except that Waddle is doing what he’s doing under more challenging circumstances.

That is all.

its easy to see the talent in Waddle but sorry the bazillion receptions with a 9ypc average still not wowing me especially with the explosiveness Waddle exibits
Even with the OL issues (other QB's past here & throughout the league deal with it to different extents) 9.8ypc is subpar for a WR
i do place much of the blame on the staff though
These are Hunter Renfro numbers (good WR) and yes I know Waddle is a rookie so i temper my labels for Waddle at this time
No matter what we must have a competent OC next year and better coaching decisions to use Waddle as a much more dynamic weapon

YPC is such a fantasy football type of stat. Waddle gets open and moves the chains. That secondary is very, very good. That secondary could not stop him. Everyone watching that game knew the ball had to get to Waddle over and over. The Saints could not stop him!!!

Waddle doesn’t lose speed getting in and out of his breaks so he gets tremendous separation.

Shame that our other speedster seemingly lost his love to play football because they’d be a really fun pair to scheme together.

Jim jensen (with very much respect) moved the chains
